NBA experimenting with rule changes in the NBDL.

Postby EGarrett on Sat Nov 13, 2004 3:00 am

I don't know if you guys spotted this news, but this upcoming NBDL season has some pretty significant rule changes.

http://www.nba.com/nbdl/nbdl/rules_041111.html

To put it simply, 3-pointers will not count until the last 3 minutes of regulation or overtime (they'll just be regular two-point buckets). And the 8-second halfcourt rule is now 7-seconds.

The NBA claims they have no plans to institute these in the normal league, but they admit that they're using the NBDL as a "laboratory for the game in general."

How do you think those changes will affect the game?

i protest against this.
3pt shot is one of my favorite, especially when they get hot like Dallas does at times.
seeing ray, peja, houston, dirk, and more stroke the 3 is nice.

The discussion of applying the rules to the NBA we've already had. We all agreed on that the change would suck. What's left to discuss? How much it'll suck?

Yes. It's going to suck so bad.. It'll be like the old days. But they are trying new things to improve the game, so lets just see before making a complete judgement.
