With my preference for retro basketball gaming these days, releasing some new and fixed mods for old favourites is one of my modding goals for 2026 and beyond. NBA Live 99 is on that list, so here's a release and support topic for my NBA Live 99 mods (once upon a time, we would've called them patches)!

Michael Jordan Update



This package is a compilation of Michael Jordan mods from the late 90s: a face and accessory created by Kit, and custom speech files by two of our founders, Tim and Brien. In addition to packaging them up and providing an easier method of installing them on modern Windows, I've added a new portrait (taken from NBA Live 2001) with proper transparency, and a re-coloured version of the leg sleeve replacing the red with Wizards blue.

I've also given the Bulls and Wizards versions of MJ different filenames, so that they can be installed simultaneously and used by different rosters without conflict. Instructions are included. Full credits to Kit, Tim, and Brien for the original work way back in the 90s! Look out for an enhanced version of my 2002 roster in the near future, making use of more mods from the archives.
