What’s up NLSC community? I’m CelticLG, creator of the Attention to Detail (ATD) project active since NBA 2K19. I’m excited to kick off ATD 2K26, our annual, data‑driven overhaul of tendencies, attributes, badges, playbooks, coaching profiles, and franchise tuning—built to make NBA 2K26 play like real basketball. We’ll be covering everything with our usual obsessive attention to detail. Gameplay-wise, we’re excited by the improvements and ready to push things further to deliver the most realistic basketball experience possible.

This year I’m collaborating with a talented team to push accuracy and immersion across every layer of the game. Our team runs a closed‑loop process: data drives tendencies; tendencies shape attributes; attributes are validated with sliders and playbooks; then everything is stress‑tested in User vs CPU, CPU vs CPU, and long MyNBA sims. This prevents contradictions—players don’t just look right, they play right—and lets us fix issues faster while keeping the experience consistent from day one through Year 10. Tendencies
[1.1] Shot and touch tendencies updated based on impact and usage
[1.2] Shot zone re-balancing using real tracking (close/mid/3PT zones)
[1.3] Shot distribution tuned to modern basketball (fewer wasted mid-range for non-specialists, more 3s)
[1.4] Off-screen, spot-up, contested shot tendencies corrected
[1.5] Stepbacks (mid/3PT) reworked to reflect real attempts
[1.6] Pull-ups, floaters, spin jumpers, bank shots scaled by attempts per‑36
[1.7] Eurostep, hopstep, spin, step-through frequencies updated
[1.8] Putback tendency tuned to favor specialists
[1.9] Dunk tendencies (standing/driving/flashy) reworked
[1.10] Alley‑oop pass/dunk tendencies based on real stats
[1.11] Triple-threat jab/pump/idle globally tuned (fewer idle jabs, smarter fakes)
[1.12] Crash tendency formula by height/weight
[1.13] Size-up/hesitation/no-setup moves rescaled to reduce dead dribbling
[1.14] Standing vs driving dribble tendencies reworked for flow
[1.15] Passing tendencies (dish to open man, etc.) increased for drive-and-kick/extra-pass
[1.16] Spot-Up vs Cut tuned for correct transition behavior
[1.17] Roll vs Pop tuned using last two years of PnR/PnP data
[1.18] Isolation tendencies based on real iso stats
[1.19] Post-up and post-move frequencies updated
[1.20] Hooks/fadeaways tracked and fixed to turn to shoulder correctly
[1.21] Charge/hard-foul/contest tendencies increased for realistic defense
[1.22] Steal/foul/passing lanes/block tendencies rescaled by real stats
[1.23] Play discipline tuned—stars will seek shots when needed

Attributes
[2.1] Layup/Close/Mid/3PT updated with formulas tied to % and volume
[2.2] Free Throw updated using last two seasons
[2.3] New formulas for Shot IQ and Offensive/Defensive Consistency
[2.4] Dunk attributes reworked
[2.5] Driving layup, draw foul, post fade/hook from real stats
[2.6] Athletic attributes (speed/accel/vert/lateral) from combine + age adjustments
[2.7] Defensive attribute overhaul to align ratings with on-court impact
[2.8] Passing attributes from advanced passing data
[2.9] Stamina by age/height/weight/position
[2.10] New Strength formula
[2.11] Rebounds/steal/pass perception/block updated from prior season
[2.12] Hustle/ball handling (esp. capable bigs)/hands tuned to play style

Badges

Rescaled badge system after multi-year sim testing for stability
Removed OP badges that break gameplay/sim balance
Personality badges updated to mirror real player personas (also unlocks scenarios in our MyNBA Event Generator)

Plus:
Updated playbooks for all 30 teams with real life NBA plays
Correct play-types for all players using Synergy tracking
Realistic signature shots for all the players in the league
Correct accessories and shoes
Full G‑League rosters for all teams
Correct coaching profiles/sliders for accurate styles, tactics, rotations
Points of emphasis tuned for better team sim stats
Up-to-date transactions for Opening Night, plus a separate weekly updates file
Play-for-win/loyalty/financial security edits to reflect personality and contract behavior
Peak start/end tuned by archetype and historical curves (e.g., shooters age differently than explosive bigs)
Potential corrections to curb 80+ OVR inflation in future MyNBA seasons
Correct positions based on real usage
Contract corrections (add team/player options; fix values and more)
Updated rotations for all 30 teams
Play‑initiator fixes across the league
Realistic sim stats (player/team) through extensive tuning and testing
Correct heights and jersey numbers (post training camps)
Updated face scans and new CAPs for missing players
Real staff free agency pool additions
Correct durability values by body part for every NBA player, based on 20 years of injury tracking
Draft class compatibility via creators building ATD‑specific classes
Additions to FA pool: overseas/draft‑and‑stash/missing players
Corrected draft picks and team intel (rebuilding/selling/buying/contending) in the official scenario

Thank you for the work you and your team put in. I will attest that you guys literally saved 2k25 for me, I was bummed at the lack of complete era rosters at first until I stumbled upon ATD. I ended up playing 2k25 current era mostly, each game felt like a realistic outcome. I could never beat the Celtics in 2k25 using ATD rosters, and rightfully so. They'd dribble penetrate, and get the open 3. Anyway, I am eager to play your ATD current era rosters :).
