Roster player to new team transaction help

Postby Scottybasketball2023 on Wed Jun 19, 2024 6:45 am

I posted this here as well, because i am not sure how many people would actually open up the WNBA mod thread and read this.

Hi,
I am having a little bit of an issue editing team roster transactions with RED MC.

I started with the FEVER, most of the girls from this 2019-2020 roster are no longer on the team. Just 3 to be exact, 2 went to other teams and 7 are no longer in the league. I changed all the team Id's to match the team they are currently on and moved 7 to the FA pool.
Looks perfect in the editor, but when you go into the game and load the roster they are still on the Fever. When you play they are still on the team. Even when you now go into the trade feature in game and try to trade then, the game says they are already on new said team.
What gives?

I know there is a work around for this problem, but that would be much more time consuming. I could just do the transactions in game, using the trade feature and add/drop button. But once again, this would take forever.

I want to know if this is a known issue?
Can be corrected?
Or am i doing something wrong?

I don't think so, because i am pretty sure it's as easy as just changing the TEAM ID #1 & 2 for a player in the editor as i did.

I read the RED MC tutorial for TEAM ID's
Am i missing another column i need to change as well? Or is this a common glitch?

Any veteran roster creators should know the answer to this.

Thank you,

Always move players in-game. Always. It can feel like a slow process, but it's much, much safer, because it takes care of all the values throughout the rosters that are tied to team, roster position, the different rotations for each team, assigned minutes, etc automatically. Only ever use external editors to modify what can't be changed/accessed in-game.

As it is, you're probably going to have to restore from a backup, because it's going to be extremely messy to fix at this point with all the conflicting values.

Transactions should always be made in-game. By the time you manually change all the necessary fields throughout the database, it'll have been far more time-consuming to move players around via RED MC, with a much greater risk of running into these issues on top of that.

Thank you, Andrew,
Will do.

Thank God i hadn't gotten too far along, before i noticed this problem.

I had spent most of the past 2 weeks, just collecting information on players and teams, and finding out who i needed to create. Mostly out of the editor things, so going back to a backup won't be so bad at all.

Just 3 new players created since the last back and before i started to edit rosters and line ups.

It's most likely because you changed their teams only in Players tab, but you'll also need to change team Roster in Teams tab. Here to be precisely:

Thanks Pep,

Yes, i found a YouTube video this afternoon with something very similar to what you have here. I was waiting until i get home to post it.

Not sure which way is easier, but in the video Jaosming does mention going back into the game and have the computer correct the rotations, so this may be a two-part process in order to get it right.

Pep, you wouldn't want to whip up or update a WNBA court or two?

Just asking,
Thanks for the information

Honestly I'm out of service a little bit right now, I'm still not finished jerseys that I started (retro Magic, new Jazz) and already Wizards release new statement (not even touch that yet).
