Grizzlies waive Bell and Outlaw

Postby fgrep15 on Tue Nov 02, 2004 10:39 am

The Memphis Grizzlies today waived forward Bo Outlaw and guard Troy Bell and placed Antonio Burks (left hip strain), Andre Emmett (left knee tendonitis) and Ryan Humphrey (left foot strain) on the injured list to set the team’s 12-man opening night roster.

Man I hope the Raptors can get Troy Bell, and even Outlaw could help the Raptors at the PF/C spots, but we're stacked at forward, but if Bell can be gotten, and the Raps waive Milt, I'll rejoice.

I'm kinda made that we left both of them go because I would rather let Burks and Humphrey go. The reason why they let Outlaw go is because of his $5 mil contract. I guess they kept Burks over Bell mainly because Burks a hometown player, but I still wouldve rather kept Bell because he showed me alot in the preseason. His preseason stats were better than Burks too. I think they should put Emmett on the active 12 man roster too instead of Dahntay Jones. Emmett has played great in the summer league and preseason and he looked good in the open practice. I'm pretty sure they will share mins on and off the IR list.

Ya, I agree. I really liked Bell, I've seen him play and he has some great potential.

Troy Bell could be a valuable pickup for a couple teams, I'm rather suprised that Humphrey wasn't cut though. I'm sure the Bobcats will have some interest in Bell.

Teams looking at Outlaw - Miami, Orlando [maybe], Toronto [better be], Phoenix, Lakers?, Milwaukee

Teams looking at Bell - Toronto [better be], Denver, Utah, Charlotte [look at everyone], New Jersey?

Don't think Orlando would be considering they just traded for a backup PF in Brandon Hunter.

Bummer. Wolves wanted to draft Bell last year (hometown kid) but he went early in the draft.

he is a good player, hopefully he'll get a chance somewhere.

16th, same thing basically, I think Reece Gaines was 15th, but yea he's a very talented player, just was in the wrong situation.
