Not Looking So Good in Sacramento?

Postby NNpF on Sat Oct 30, 2004 10:56 am

Since the beginning of the offseason I have heard nothing but bad things about the Kings.

You always hear pessimistic things about Webber, Stojakovic doesn't even want to be in Sacramento anymore and what once was maybe the deepest team in the league is now reduced to Bobby Jackson.

Now I have always been a Kings fan but from the looks of things Sacramento may not even be very much of a threat in the West anymore.

Now everybody knows they have a talented team but the question is can Webber stay uninjured and if Stojakovic doesn't get traded will that affect the way he plays?

I want to know what you guys think about the Kings this season, and maybe the Mavs who are another team that might have taken a step backwards unless again key players step up.

We both know these teams have the talent, the question is will the talent on both these teams show up?

Sac is in turmoil which isn't good news because it already is a step behind Minnesota and Spurs.

Either Stojakovic or Webber has to go

You never know what can happen. They might be kicking ass around February and all this will be forgotten. If Webber gets injured again things might begin to look better

Well... Peja seems pretty pissed at managment insisting, "If you trade me you get new blood and I get a new beggining.." but he is intent to play for the Kings for the moment and not sabotage the team which is cool!

Webber has to go
Everyone has seen and heard it last year, when Webber was out the Kings were doing just fine but as soon as the so-called "Star" player returns ..... there goes there chances pretty much
I say make Peja happy and get rid of Webber :!:

webber sucks, trade him. what gives him the right to call people like peja soft, when you have a 6'10 245 power forward that plays like a 2 guard, spending more time shooting shots in the elbow then banging bodies in the paint

Pff, I've always said Webber's a sissy. Always with a look of...damn, you gonna let them kick my ass like that Ref?

Hehe, Divac rubbed off on him in more ways then one I suppose.

What I think is funny, is that Webber gets ctricised for being "soft" and a "sissy" and all that, but peja gets a free pass. Why? Peja was the one who disappeared in the playoffs, and webber was out there with one leg. What killed the kings last season was Bobby Jackson's injury, not webber returning.

I'd like the Chicago Bulls to make a run for Peja. The Bulls have so many rookies and this is driving me nuts. Peja is indeed the closer thing to one of the greatest Larry Bird.

Thanks.

What does Peja's disappearance have to do with Webber's softness? Peja isn't supposed to be a bump & grind defender/post player. Webber is.

Who said Peja gets a free pass? I think there are enough people that scoff at the fact that Peja just up & vamooshed from the playoffs.

We just like to dislike Webber more because he got to bone Tyra Banks. God knows who Peja's dating.

Not even close. Maybe in shot accuracy (though Bird could actually make his shots in the playoffs) but he's can't even touch the intangibles that Bird possesed -- attitude, hard work, and fundamentals. Peja can shoot. If he had a mediocre shot, he'd have nothing else to say for himself, unlike Bird who was one of the toughest players to ever play the game.

And who would they give to Sacramento for Peja? They are probably one of the last teams that have a chance at Peja.

What does Peja's disappearance have to do with Webber's softness? Peja isn't supposed to be a bump & grind defender/post player. Webber is.

Peja's dissapearance cost the Kings against the twolves. I still believe that if (and im not saying what if) the kings beat minnesota, they would have beaten the lakers too. But whenever the kings problems arise, it's all webbers fault, but peja isnt criticised half as much. And as for webber being "soft", he came back and tried to contibute when his leg wasn't healthy. Shaq missed 2-3 months with toe surgery, If iverson had done the same as webber, we'd be singing his praises. Webber does play tough post defense also. Remember the 2002 playoffs, game 7 against the lakers. down the strecth he put his hand up and attempted to stop shaq. if he was soft, he would have stayed with robert horry.

Who said Peja gets a free pass? I think there are enough people that scoff at the fact that Peja just up & vamooshed from the playoffs.

But not nearly as much as what webber cops. Who cares if he was banging tyra banks? Don't hate the player baby :P

eddy curry
and deng or gordon

last team that have a chance? when peja made his trade demand, he mentioned chicago as a possibility. chicago has a big serbian population and skiles was his coach before.

I don't think the Bulls have anything the Kings would be interested in. Peja is the best shooter in the league and an All-Star. And Curry and Davis are guys who might not ever reach their full potential.

it may not even be relevant if peja decides to take the t-mac route and put the kings in handcuffs. it would be about where peja wants to go and whatever sacto can get in return.

also figure in peja no doubt will want a max contract- will the maloofs want to give that to a player heading into his 30's??

davis has already filled his potential lol
