You know, I actually looked up the RPG mod Q suggested and I would love to see GTA Online take this type of spin:

phpBB [video]

Basically PvP zones and stuff because the world they've created is way too beautiful and immersive to be wasted on an open-world deathmatch. I think the ability to also choose classes or have occupations (if you so desire) would be neat as well: stuff like a bounty hunter where if you're only that class you can claim player bounties, or cops, medics, etc.

The game in its current form is an absolute fuckfest: it is literally people on flying motorcycles destroying people's cargo (that they worked hard for) in a matter of minutes... it's hilarious and cruel in both ways. My favorite aspect of the game used to be hunting player bounties but it's all too easy with the homing missiles on the MK2.

I'm really desiring an amazing open world online experience and GTA Online just isn't it fam. I thought I could get into Phantasy Star Online but despite being free it just isn't my cup of tea at all. I have reverted back to emulators of the now defunct Star Wars Galaxies: an MMO that was and still is ahead of its time. I've also been reminiscing over PlayStation Home as well.

So they announced that the game will be on an unprecedented THIRD generation of consoles. It would be like if Nintendo tried to sell Super Mario Bros on N64 for $60. I commend them for keeping online fresh enough to continue to make money off of it but it would be great if there was anything new like a new storyline

TBH I have a bit of buyer's remorse paying like 20 bucks to essentially try the casino in the PS4 version after already buying the PS3 version. Hopefully I won't be tempted to buy the game a third time

I already owned the game on PC, 360, and PS4 thanks to sales (or launch, in the case of the 360), and then my friend gifted me the PS3 version along with his PS3. I think I own it on enough platforms already.

I'm still disappointed they never released Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories on PS4. It'd be nice if they went ahead and put the whole PS2 saga on PS5.

GTA Online is hot trash; the flying motorcycles have ruined it. It would honestly be better if they removed the fantasy elements (or at least anything OP) at this point (homing missiles, alien weaponry, etc). It is beyond disappointing that Rockstar have mastered the open world and it has just gone to waste. The casino was actually one of the better updates to me.

Edit: Like I was actually excited to find the game was being ported and enhanced, but then they showed the flying cars shooting missiles in the trailer and I remembered how bad it is. There is supposedly a Cops 'n Crooks update coming at the end of the year: while a good idea, they will probably manage to fuck it up somehow, if they even release it (considering the state of the world).

But yeah; classes (such as something like being able to be a police officer) is something I would love to see in GTA Online. I would have no objection to the game becoming more MMO-like, and even implementing PVP zones.

The one time I played GTA Online for any length of time at a friend's house, we kept getting blown up by someone in a tank over and over again. I'm also inclined to pass on that particular experience.

It was a lot of fun at first, but these days I'd say it would be fun if you had friends that also played. Playing with randoms and trolls is pretty annoying

I guess that's online gaming in a nutshell.

Rockstar is definitely showing what they care about most, and it's the recurring income. In both GTA V and RDR 2 there have been no single player DLC updates but plenty of updates to the Online portions. I think they are looking to split the modes, and hell they could make Online F2P and still make a ton of money on it for less work than a complete single player experience

Remember that they're part of the Take-Two family along with 2K Sports, so it's not surprise. Though, in all fairness, it's the state of the industry right now.

Oh Lord, that's beautiful. They could truly do wonderful things with this game but continue to disappoint.
