Wow! It may just be hindsight, but a lot of those trades seem kind of one-sided. Like Traylor for Camby for instance. I know in 1999 he (Traylor) had a big season, but still. The Knicks are also in a visible rebuild getting rid of so many vets and talent. Though odd they aren't collecting picks. I suppose that is 2K for you.

For you guys, Sheed looks to be killing it. I'm glad he is dominating. Same for Pip. 35 years old and still taking over as a 15-point scorer, very impressive for him rolling back the clock to his Houston days. More fuel to the underrated fire for sure.

Are you playing any of the games or are all of these simulated?

Hey man! Thanks a lot for the reply. Knicks, it's kind of weird, they made the Finals a year and a half ago. I suppose that is Dolan, for you.

Sheed has been superb, I will try to keep him around and not trade him down the road. Scottie has been great too, but he is close to retirement, so I'm already looking for a replacement -- so is Sabonis, but I kept Jermaine, so I think I got the C position covered long term.

I'm playing just one game per recap, so that's five out of 28 so far. If I want to keep this going for a long period of time, I think simming 80% and playing 20% of all games is more than fine.

It always interests me how drafts are handled in retro games. Do you use the scouting reports available at the time to judge the prospects, or just draft using the knowledge of how these players actually turned out in real life?

For example, will Kwame Brown be the #1 pick again and will Tony Parker be a late first rounder

The draft summary is a really great idea! If I had more of a scout ability, I think I would've stolen it. I really like how you kept the sleepers realistic to the time with TP being a sleeper, etc. That's really cool. It keeps it real and allows a real breakout.

Something unrelated to the report I've been thinking about reading through the draft report: will you follow the real-life change of allowing illegal defenses after this year? Or, are you already ahead of the game and have zones and such there already? I ask because as other teams should go down with their isolation offenses having as much dominance (Lakers, as an example, had their two stars decrease percentages and/or shot attempts from 2001-2004 in real life as the changes really impacted the ways they are defended), the Trail Blazers don't rely on that style of offense. You guys are actually pretty prepped for the change. Depending on how this year goes, there are also a great crop of talent coming in which would benefit you as well. (y)

Well, by this being a retro story, you will always have info on how that player turned out to be and what their style of play is. Truth be told, I had to search for some scouting reports and copy some info. I was 10 years old in 2000! But I'm gonna draft for all teams based on needs. That being said, Kwame won't be #1, that's for sure  And Tony will surely go up a couple of spots.

Thanks a lot for the reply, man! I didn't think about the illegal defenses, at all! I'm just gonna try and make life a living hell for those Lakers. :cheeky:

Sabonis is really stepping up post-injury! Seeing the big fella really take over this last week. Excited to see how he looks moving forward. Hopefully no more injuries! :D

He has slowed down a little lately, but Smith has been much, much better. Rasheed will miss some time, but I think we've got the roster to cope.
