However, outlook on 2K18 & 2K19 conversions has not changed - those are still as simple as advertised. As I said previously, they will be beginner-friendly, but unfortunately 2K17 conversions specifically will not be beginner-friendly like I once thought.
This is what the tool looks like. Just like I described but with one additional button that performs a necessary task for only 2K17 conversions.

That can already be done with shrinkwrap in Blender.

Nice, gotta try that. Do you have a link for the tutorial?

I can add him to the list of essential 2K17 conversions along with the obvious ones like Sheed and Reggie Miller - since the process is a little bit more intensive I plan on spending the bulk of my time converting players doing 2K17 conversions.bluejaybrandon wrote:Still no mouth movement regardless of conversion year (2k17,18,19) correct? Correct. With the current available method to try and preserve those animations, there's no point because although the mouth will open and do some of those basic animations, in game the animations are still not right (i.e. the mouth opens EXTREMELY wide or other glitchy type stuff which is a total dealbreaker). I have had some encouraging new discoveries that are giving me clues about exactly where, what, how data is stored in the model file for those animations. I plan on looking into that further but don't want to enter that rabbit hole until I get the tool released.

I was thinking before I work on the tutorial for the conversion tool I could go ahead and release it to let you get your hands on it and mess around with it, and then come back to me with what specific parts of it you have questions about, as well as any other questions/issues before I do a full video tutorial. Perhaps in the meantime I could provide some written instructions and/or a very brief screencap to illustrate?
