Hey I've noticed an influx of new guys/gals joining the forum and this is a kinda welcome/advice thread:
1. Modding here for NBA2K is focused on "OFFLINE" modes like My League/My GM. If you got NBA2K on PC because you want to cheat at MC,
The Park, My Team or any of those online modes this probably isn't the place for you. One because outwardly trying to cheat is frowned
upon to put it lightly and also because members here detest the PC cheater because they gives the modding community a bad name
and also leads to NBAK going out of their way to start blocking things that modders use strictly for offline entertainment.
So my advice is stop making post asking how to cheat because as you probably have noticed, you're just going to get ignored and if
you post it enough you'll probably get banned by administrators because cheating is not condoned and shouldn't be associated with
NLSC. Hopefully you will also get banned by 2K as well. I know that sounds harsh but it is what it is. (Read the rules section)
2. If you have a pirated copy please stop asking modders to provide you with and offline version of their mods. We all had to pay
for the game and you should do so as well. Oh yeah and please stop with the "I only asked because for some reason I cant get online"
excuse because no one believes you even if it may possibly be true. Some say they can't afford to buy the game and my only tactful
response to that is, if you do have one of these copies please do us and yourself a favor and keep that info to yourself. (Read the
rules section)
3. On a better note... If you're here because you're a MY league/My GM player, this is a wonderful way to experience it with modding.
Keep in mind that this is a community meaning it's more beneficial if we all give and take to and from the community. By this
I mean try not to have the gimme, gimme, gimme attitude about mods. Try to actually learn things about modding because it can
more fulfilling but it isn't a requirement. If you choose to go the just take approach please at least be respectful to the
modders. Please read the threads. If it says preview it's just that... A preview. When it is released the OP will update the title to
released. Constantly asking and in some cases demanding immediate release isn't going to make the mod come when you want so
just be patient. If you do engage in trying to mod yourself, please go back to the NBA2K18 modding section posts and find
the tutorial section and "read it". A lot of talented modders spent countless hours putting those tutorials (A lot with videos)
out and it gives you everything you need to learn how to mod. Modding isn't easy and you're not going to buy the game today and
know how to mod today. Now I know some will say I want to learn but when I ask questions no one answers me. That is because based
on what you asked modders can tell if you have invested the time to learn things or not. If you go thru the tutorial section
you should know ho to navigate blender, how to extract files, how to open face/png.iff's, how to manipulate the info.RDAT, etc.
If you aren't up to at least those points it's difficult for modders to help you because it's just too much to explain if you don't
understand the basic fundamentals of modding. If you don't want to invest the time in reading or viewing the tutorials no one is going
to invest the time in hand walking you thru modding. Otherwise modders will be very helpful for as much as they are able. Keep in mind
that sometimes you may want to do something that no one knows how to do so don't get upset. Just play around with it yourself because
you may find something new to add to the community. I'm a body edit/accessories fitting person and will help in those areas as much as I
have the knowledge to... So ask and I'm willing to help. Modding will be as enjoyable as you make it.
Once again welcome and I hope you enjoy modding NBA2K as much as I do. Happy Modding.
