unfortunately, it looks like they totally remove the my career in offline mode but let's hope for the future patch updates especially the modders out there i think they will figure this out, hopefully. well if your steam user it will work fine as long as your playing online and updated to the latest patch

In the past years offline MyCareer is very similar to previous gen mode where it lacks the story. Also at least in 2K18 your max OVR was 98 even if you maxed out all your attributes.

When Steam is offline, you can only use Play Now or MyLeague.

Offline does not have a story in career thankfully.
