The Warriors draw the Clippers in round one. Yawn. The two-time defending champions and overwhelming favorites take on a Clippers team led by a pair of fringe all-stars and a ragtag group of role players. Kudos to the Clippers for that nice run they went on to end the season, but honestly just winning a game here would be a success for them in my opinion. Don't see it though.
Warriors in 4

Clips get 1, cementing them as the best LA team

Shai Gorgeous Alexander to expose Steph Curry for one game.

I'm weird; these are the series I always get excited about, where a team who has no business being in the postseason (and even further should've been tanking) has the potential to take out one of the greatest teams in league history. It isn't the best first-round series, but definitely the coolest (as little sense as that makes); I love rooting for the underdog.

patrick beverley makes the series watchable

Clips have no chance. No chance in hell.

I would love to see an upset here - as much as it would destroy the rest of the Playoffs, like the Warriors themselves did in 2007 - but I don't think that's likely. However, I'm going to make a bold prediction, and pick the Clippers to give the Warriors an unexpected scare, taking two games from them before the defending champs advance in six.

Matt Barnes was always one of those guys that I liked watching on whatever team he went to. He's a real one.

GSW in 4 ez win. Unfortunately

Sorry to tell you guys, but the Clippers are most likely getting sweeped, but might pull out a home court victory. Golden State is very smart. They keep the Clips around with a slow lul, and then finish the half or quarter with a run, usually when they decide to create turnovers.
Clippers look clueless and stagnant out there the moment their "set plays" breaks down, while the Warriors look like they are toying with LAC with their screens and spacing. Watch the Clippers follow the ball around like dogs as the W's passing and movement create huge open opportunities for them to just practice shooting for the next round. Maybe the only way for the Clips to win a game is by hitting 3's and hope that the W's get tired.
Kevin Durant ejected, Demarcus Cousins fouled out, Clippers got blown out. The best thing to look forward to as a Clippers fan is Lou Williams eating through the tired Warriors off the dribble. He will probably have to take over a game just to get a win. The W's have killed the Zubac/Harrell roll man game that LAC has been using.

Well, two wins for the Clippers may still turn out to be a lofty prediction, but I was right about them avoiding the sweep. Took a monumental comeback to do it, but they got the W.
I've seen it noted that the Warriors are the first team to blow a 3-1 lead in the NBA Finals, and a 31 point lead in a Playoff game. It's certainly a statistic, so I guess that makes it noteworthy in 2019.

Look how hard they had to play to get that win. I'm such a Clipper hater, now.

With Demarcus out, I think the Clips can grab a W in 3 games.

Definitely possible. And even if they don't, the Game 2 win is a tremendous achievement for a team that was supposed to in rebuilding mode and back in the basement.

There's plenty of room on this Lakers bandwagon

Well sure, but why would Pat ever support the second best team in LA, and the fourth best in the state of California?

He's the only reason to watch the series.

3 years / 24 million for Lou Williams is highway robbery, especially coming off a borderline all star season last year. Compare that to a guy like Evan Turner who makes more than twice as much and is only kept around because he's funny and untradeable

Man, I so fucking wish the Cavs pulled the trigger on a deal for Lou Will and DJ last year... rumor was they didn't even have to give up the Brooklyn pick (Sexton).
Sun Apr 28, 2019 10:08 am
Well, the Clippers did pick up two wins before being eliminated. That pick totally makes up for me underestimating the Blazers.
