So Fultz is already out in Philly? How dumb does it look now that Boston traded down to not take him and got Tatum instead
Tue Nov 27, 2018 10:40 am
Ainge definitely made the right call there. Having Embiid, Butler, and Simmons softens the blow for the 76ers, but yeah, Fultz is shaping up to be a bust.
Tue Nov 27, 2018 2:52 pm
Hindsight.
No one knew Fultz would forget how to shoot.
This clusterfuck wouldn't have happened with Sam Hinkie, fucking Colangelo.
Fri Nov 30, 2018 8:54 pm
Does he really have a shoulder injury?
Sat Dec 01, 2018 6:40 pm
Likely no.
He also had a 'shoulder injury' when he forgot how to shoot.

Don't look now, but the Clippers are atop the West. Weren't they supposed to fade back into obscurity? I know there's a lot of season left, but Paul, Griffin, and Jordan all leaving was meant to herald an immediate plunge back into the basement for the foreseeable future.

Might be.
Clippers consultant Jerry West was apparently the one that wanted Austin traded and Doc to have his GM powers removed so that the latter could concentrate on simply coaching.
Doc being motivated too for this rebuilding phase also helps.
Best home record in the league right now, only lost one.
Jerry West effect too, was also GSW consultant when they developed that dynasty.
Clippers owner Steve Ballmer always believed in developers.

I kinda preached that the Clippers unintentionally became a great all-around team, a la the post-Anthony Nuggets (who also had Gallinari); I didn't expect them to do this well though, or frankly care enough to put together this well of a season so far.
That Hezonja "poster" was lame; he didn't posterize him (since Giannis was behind him), and then the audacity to step over him when in reality it was just an average play. Smoke and mirrors folks: to the unsuspecting eye it looked nice, and Hezonja certainly took advantage of that.

TBH it looks cool to be on top right now but it's super early, Curry has been hurt, and there's only 5.5 games separating 1st and second to last place. Lose 6 games and you could go first to worst
Thu Dec 06, 2018 9:11 am
They're still overachieving.
Sun Dec 09, 2018 5:41 pm
Bucks get: Guard George Hill, forward Jason Smith and a 2021 second-round pick
Cavaliers get: Guard Matthew Dellavedova, center John Henson, a 2021 first-round pick, a 2021 second-round pick and a 2022 second-round pick
Wizards get: Forward Sam Dekker

For Cavaliers and Bucks, there was an urgency to a get deal done by 6 PM ET today. Now the players in the deal are eligible to be aggregated on the Feb. 7 trade deadline. Essentially, they can combine these players with other contracts to move before the deadline.

Player Fouls per game look a bit more normal now I think? Couldn't find the number from some weeks back but I think it was 23.1 or something close. Now, it is 21.7 which is a bit closer to last year 19.9 particularly if you compare per possession values.

Raptors defeat the Warriors, even with Kawhi Leonard sidelined.

Thankfully, Lowry managed to shoot out of his slump. He had 0 points two games ago, now he is making real buckets. Raptors look like they mean business this year, but I am still concerned about Lowry. He does this every year: he has a couple of outstanding games, than another slump begins. I just hope those slumps won't be there during the playoffs

They are shaping up to be a great regular season, mediocre postseason team in recent years. It reminds me a little of the Seattle SuperSonics back in the 90s. Of course, they were able to break through and get to the Finals in 1996. Unfortunately for them, they ran into Michael Jordan and the 72-10 Bulls. The Warriors are probably still the favourites to come out of the West by default, but I think they're vulnerable this year. Anyone coming out of the East - especially the Raptors - probably has as good a shot as they've had in years, the Comeback Cavs in 2016 not withstanding.
Fri Dec 14, 2018 9:15 am
They do have a history, but I'd say the team is much different than in the past with Kawhi instead of Derozan. I could see (if they even make it) the Spurs fading in the playoffs with Demar and Lamarcus, two unproven stars
Fri Dec 14, 2018 11:12 am
Absolutely. The acquisition of Kawhi was obviously huge, and while it's yet to be proven in the Playoffs, potentially a proverbial gamechanger. It remains to be seen whether he's a one year rental, but postseason success will surely help with Toronto's pitch. Then again, I guess it depends on how his uncle feels.

Am I the only one who doesn't like when both teams wear away jerseys? It's becoming commonplace (Raps red @ Warriors black, for example).
Fri Dec 14, 2018 2:29 pm
I'm definitely not a fan of it, or this new uniform designation/nomenclature in general. It was an unnecessary change, and the resulting free-for-all in letting teams choose which jersey they wear and when with no consistency with the rest of the league just looks messy.

It's pretty confusing. When both teams wear colored jerseys as well as when they flip and the away team wears white. It's funny because they say home teams have their say but they force them to wear certain jerseys on specific days.

So blown away by Giannis' dunk (first play) that I couldn't even watch the rest of the highlights. So much better than Hezonja's false "poster".
Fred McLeod also got decimated by Delly at 3:10.
Sat Dec 15, 2018 10:50 pm
That was strong.
