Hey Andrew, didn't we call this, LOL?

I have to LOL @ all the Carmelo nut-huggers (on social media) who called me a "hater" when I said Houston got worse when they signed him. He's not a winning player. Carmelo has always been more concerned about stats and his "brand/legacy".

Just saw this on usatoday.com - Sixers are close to acquiring Kyle Korver from the Cavs.

Vince Carter regularly bathes in the Lazarus Pit, it seems.

Oh god no. Please, no. Not that cancer.

They already have too many SFs on the roster. They're all fighting each other over playing time.

Gruesome injury for LeVert right when he was having a breakout season. The footage gave me the bad chills.

Reports are coming out that it is just a dislocated foot with moderate ligament damage. Expected to be back later this season believe it or not.

No way, that's crazy if he does make it back.

Aftermath looked a lot like Hayward's injury with the foot turned the wrong way, but I'm guessing there wasn't as severe fracturing in the leg

LeBron passes Wilt, a man who once averaged 50 points per game, on the scoring list to get to #5. Insane.

And this is 2018, how the hell is Josh Hart still getting called Jason Hart??

Jazz getting blasted in a 50-point loss. Carlisle showing the coaching that won him a championship against prime LeBron/Wade/Bosh.

Speaking of the NBA making it hard for teams to play defense this season, the first and second best defense in the league last season (Celtics and Jazz) are just a couple of wins above .500 right now, I don't think it's a coincidence.

and the kings are 8-6

the Pels took down the best team in the NBA (raptors) but then lose the Minny tin men sans Rose. Thibs for GM of the year

It's definitely a testament to his longevity and consistency through the years.

The dysfunction continues in Sacramento: Disagreement over Kings’ direction could lead to coach Dave Joerger’s dismissal

There appears to be a substantial disconnect between the Sacramento Kings’ front office and head coach Dave Joerger pertaining to the franchise’s priorities and direction, sources told Yahoo Sports.

It’s win now vs. development for the future.

Joerger’s handling of 2018 No. 2 overall pick Marvin Bagley III could eventually lead to the coach’s dismissal, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

Sources said the franchise is growing frustrated with how Joerger is distributing minutes and assigning roles to the team’s young prospects.

The front office views this season as a development year, sources said, but it was still confident that the team would be competitive and grow with Bagley, promising guard De’Aaron Fox, and forwards Harry Giles and Skal Labissiere getting meaningful minutes.

Joerger, generally regarded as one of the best X’s and O’s coaches in the league, has favored playing veteran players over developing youth, especially in crunch time.

The Kings are currently on their fifth coach in six years, and Joerger is under contract through the 2019-20 season. Joerger was hired in May 2016 to replace George Karl.

Vlade Divac is a moron.

If he really wanted development of young players then why did he sign his 30-year old countryman (Nemanja) despite the Kings already having 3 young bigs (Bagley, Skal, WCS) plus 2 veteran bigs (Zach, Koufos).

Divac just blames the coach for every clusterfuck that he does.

Re: 2018-2019 Season Daily Discussion

Sun Nov 18, 2018 1:19 pm

Indeed. And even if he hadn't brought in Nemanja, sometimes younger players have to earn minutes, even if a team is in rebuilding mode. Not everyone is ready to play big minutes in a big role right away, and the veterans are there to learn from. There's also value in being in a situation where a team is still trying to be competitive and win despite being far from a contender, rather than tanking the season from Day 1.

If nothing else, you have to let your coaches coach instead of breathing down their neck and trying to call the shots. If Divac or any other executive wants to do that, they can come down to the sidelines and pick up a clipboard themselves. No wonder more and more coaches are asking for dual roles with front office power, though that admittedly doesn't always go so well either.

We here in NYC know all about that situation, Andrew.

Speaking of dysfunction, it's really getting crazy down in D.C. with the Wizards.

It's the old story. Losing does little for morale and cohesiveness. Apparently Wall has apologised for his role in the proceedings.

Too bad Wall couldn't do a Jimmy Butler, most of the team including the third stringers hate him too.

Warriors have dropped four straight. Durant may have been a standout performer in the last couple of NBA Finals, but Curry's importance shouldn't be underestimated.
