I was reading some Cnnsi.com shit and found out that Toronto won over Chicago that year, in the regular season... Which teams had the other 9? I know that they had only two losses in the playoffs (to Seattle), I just would like to know which teams were able to steal a win from those mighty Bulls.
Fri Sep 17, 2004 5:21 pm
Orlando
Seattle
Indiana
Denver
Phoenix
Miami
New York
Toronto
Charlotte
Indiana (again)
Fri Sep 17, 2004 6:19 pm
i think they lost 1 more game in the playoffs other than the 2 in seattle
coz their overall record = 100 games
so thats 72 W - 10 L
playoffs 15 W - 03 L (new york?)
------------------------
total 87 W - 13 L

Toronto's performance was pretty nice as they were the worst team to beat them that year (only Philadelphia and Vancouver were worst in NBA standings), but they also beat the Bulls another time in regular season the following year, when Chicago went 69-13
Fri Sep 17, 2004 6:26 pm
It was against new york, game 3 in new york, when they lost.

the 95-96 bulls were so good, you guys should grab the bulls dynasty series, it's definately worth watching.. they literally steam rolled the other teams.. i don't really want to get into a jordan/kobe debate but after watching this it just makes me go

how people can say kobe (the past 2 years) is a better player than mike was in his prime.

The Bulls Dynasty set is indeed awesome. The only downside is the lack of new content, but it's still well worth the money.
Sat Sep 18, 2004 4:41 pm
Can someone confirm... Abdul-rauf scored 35???
Sat Sep 18, 2004 5:14 pm
No, he scored 32.
Box Score
That season he averaged 19ppg and 7apg.

holy cow... wat happened to him in the end?
Sat Sep 18, 2004 5:33 pm
I'm not too sure, his numbers dropped a fair bit after that season and he was out of the NBA by the time he was 31. I'm pretty sure there was some controversy surrounding him when he left, but I can't remember what it was.
Sat Sep 18, 2004 5:39 pm
i see.... any other players like him? that anyone knows of...

yeah definately. first thing i watched when i got it was game 6 of the 1998 finals.. pretty thrilling from beginning till the end. after watching it though, it made me wonder why pippen didn't get a big praise for his effort like jordan did in his flu game.. for you guys that don't know, pippen injured his back sometime along the series and made it worse in the opening minutes when he dunked.. some of you may think a bad back is nothing but trust me it hurts, it even hurts just to move. i thought on offense he played pretty well for an injury and he did great on defense snatching a couple of steals.. also grabbed some crucial rebounds.
anyways, after watching this i can't figure out why some people say kobe bryant is a better player than jordan. kobe doesn't compare to mike prior to his first retirement.. mike had everything but the 3 point shot. however, comparing mike's second coming and kobe the past 2-3 years, i would say kobe is the better
athlete.
oh, and watch the 96-97 championship dvd.. i think its on the second disk, side b.. there's a play where jordan is posting up calbert cheaney (i think).. spins to his left and goes for a 5 foot banker only to have webber block it. i've never actually seen jordan get blocked in his prime except by 2 people.. webber being one of them and the other was drexler who did it pretty emphatically. i don't know why, but seeing webber block him or anyone for that matter just made me cringe

I noticed something... in all 10 losses MJ was the leading scorer for the Bulls, which leads to believe (again) that MJ never gave up until it was all over...Not only he was a great winner but also he knew how to loose with dignity.
Sat Sep 18, 2004 7:27 pm
... or he was just easily the best player on the team.

Yeh, those people who say that Kobe is like MJ, just dont know their History. NO ONE is close to be MJ!! Does anyone read Slam Mag?? I just started reading it, and saw a few past covers and ther were 2 which realy got my attention one was
Grant Hill : Like Mike only Better
Kobe : Unlike Mike
reading those covers was enouph to make me realise how little some people know about MJ. What made MJ so good was that he could have been leading scorer every year he was in the L, but unlike Kobe or T-mac or AI, he REALY wanter to win and quickly understood HOW to do it!
With that ABdul raulf thing, there were many nba players who had some good year in the L then just went down the hill from then on! No suprise

abdul rauf was great player in nba! if he stay he would be one greatest, but nba and american propaganda push him out! he was best shooter and have no fear.

i can see how you only just started to read SLAM, you need to read the article before you get the cover lines, just like there was an issue with White Chocolate on the cover saying: 'Rookie of the Year*' and they explained the * in small lettering on the front and in the article itself

teams with quick pg's always gave those bulls teams troubles, more specifically stoudamire. geez, i can still remember him breaking harper's ankles causing him to fall down... lol it looked like harper's already rubbery knees buckled as well
. i've never actually seen jordan get blocked in his prime except by 2 people.. webber being one of them and the other was drexler who did it pretty emphatically.
i remember seeing dee brown blocking his fadeway and some dude on washington doing the same. and these weren't strips or tips. these were clean blockss. those were the only 2 times i've seen someone pack his shot one-on-one.
Tue Sep 21, 2004 12:57 am
MJ was blocked by Eddie Jones, too. But I can't remember on what team EJ played than.
Abdul-Rauf refused to stand for the national anthem. That's the last thing I remember of him. I don't know if he retired after this dispute or if he didn't get a new contract.
He was a great shooter and one of the best FT-shooter of all-time even though (or therefore?) he has to suffer from the tourette-syndrome.
