Love this.
Joel Embiid has been going out and playing in Philly parks like he's not even an NBA player. Literally playing with a bunch of regular guys, numerous videos have been surfacing showing this.
Makes me respect him even more. He may be a joker, but he's still a really young adult, and wants to have fun. He's making a lot of fans dreams come true just by showing up and participating in random pickup games.
Forget the trainers, forget the fame, forget the gym, forget the electronics, go outside and play some pickup ball like you did as a kid. My favorite big man in the NBA.

He threw the ball off his face and then windmilled it.

How about the dude who tried to block him at the hoop? haha. I have to give him credit, he made the effort.

That crossed my mind as well. But, it's nice to see a celebrity put his celebrity aside and hangout with the regular crowd, especially an athlete who could just stick his nose up at people and not interact on that level.

He should bring Fultz along with him, maybe playing against scrubs will bring back Fultz’ confidence with his jumper.

I personally believe Fultz is there, but it was "Shoot for teams", and he missed his shot. He's got next, though.

No, he sat out the game due to shoulder pain when shooting for teams.

I'll admit to still not being a big fan of Embiid, or more accurately his personality. I'm not big on that brand of brashness at the best of times, especially when you've got a lot to prove and accomplish. He's very talented and has a bright future, but I do still find his attitude off-putting.
That being said, this is definitely cool. I remember stories of Shawn Kemp doing similar things way back in the day. I'm sure those kids appreciate it too, and it probably made their day. Thumbs up to him here.

I dont root for any team in the Nba. If I had to, it would be between Lakers-Philly-Denver or Utah. But damn, I have to root for some players, and I just love Embiid. Most charismatic player in a while, at least for me. Has that 90s nba center Vibe.
