Message to NBA 2K11 Modders

Postby DaCrispy on Mon Dec 04, 2017 1:02 pm

Well basically from playing horrible next gen career modes and repetitive mygm attempts year after year 2K18 has just made me say f**k it and I've given up on the current gen games. I started playing 2K11 again on my Xbox 360 and I forgot how brilliant and in depth everything us from MyPlayer, D-League teams in Association Mode, and even a really nice Blacktop selection of games. I'm currently playing it on my Xbox 360 but I'm going to be building a beast game PC with a 2 GB GTX 1050, Quad Core i5 and 8 GB's of ram. So basically I want to make this old game as amazing as possible .

I'm currently working on my NCAA Basketball 18 mod over on 2K14 but when I'm done I'm going to start work on the following.

- Updating the NCAA Mod
- Creating a G-League Mod
- Making a 2017-18 Roster
- Editing things in MyCareer eg. D-League teams floors and arenas, Summer Circuit courts and arenas etc.

Some things I would like to know are can I convert NBA 2K14 files to 2K11, and can I use that all in 1, 4096x4096 court texture for NBA 2K14 for 2K11.

All help is appreciated but its going to be sometime after Christmas before I can get a copy of the game (Which will cost me $30 because 2K games on PC are incredibly rare in Ireland. If anyone can help me out with that I would be thrilled)

I expect to finish up on my NCAA mod after Christmas
Its also around the time I'm hoping to get my PC.

So basically if everything goes to plan I will start making these mid to late January 2018.

Welcome to this place. Certainly 2klove wouldn't mind another modder here, and plus once I get my new laptop I can get to work on here as well, since I won't be able to run high end games but can run my favorite 2K11, 2K12, 2K14 and mod them.

I still am in the same boat as you in modding this, we'll probably have to dig up some tut's the best we can, and hopefully this can be easy. Thankfully you won't need RedMc as all we need is Reditor II to work with this game

Hope you'll have a good time getting your PC and good luck!

Not floating my boat as I can't make cyberfaces and my jerseys are meh but I can make really good floors already. I've got a low end laptop atm which I'm using to mod right now but everything is so slow on it so hopefully I can work faster with the 1000000000x better Desktop

Have people forgotten how deep this game is?

There is so much potential here!
I know that people love modding 2K14 but with all the stuff contained in 2K11 if done correctly, could be the best basketball experience on PC.

Small idea - Changing all the NBA teams to NCAA teams and then all the D-League teams to Junior Colleges which would work amazingly in Association and MyPlayer!

There's other really nice touches in the game too such as Blacktop Dunk Contest, 3 Point Contest and 21 as well as the standard first to 21/Game.

The post game in my opinion is the best ever in a 2K game with a really nice Jordan Player of the Game sequence ,
- The Press Reel (Which is loads of really nice screenshots taken by AI in the game),
- G Moments (Plays of the Game Basically)
- Game Reel (A bunch if the best highlights from both teams)
- The standard player highlights (Which is now pressing X on the box score)
- And the usual Box Score

Its just so more in depth than 2K14's Player of the game and Box Score.

I want to convert court texture from 2k14 to 2k11 (4096x2048). I know it's possible. Maybe someone know how to convert it?

Really want to make some retro mods for good old 2k11.

It is possible, and I know someone (Jumpman) who is doing just that for my 2k11 Mod

Maybe you'd like to help?

I'm willing to edit the player information in pretty much any NCAA or NBA mod on 2k11.

URB WHERE SIM HAPPENS [35 Complete Seasons Mods] DOWNLOAD HERE

1984-85 through 2018-19 Rosters

Elite, Ultra, All-Time, Draft, All Star, Olympic and NCAA Rosters

What makes this mod “sim”? Here are a few of the features that set this project apart from all others:

- Every art file (jerseys, arenas, cyberfaces, accessories, courts, dornas (advertisement at half court), etc is realistic and none will crash game play
- There is no missing art file in the entire project

Every player in every roster has:
- Accurate statistical ratings and tendencies to work with 2k's simulation engine while still providing realistic game play
- Realistic ratings and tendencies that affect game play but not the simulation engine ie dribbling, athletic ratings, post tendencies, etc.
- Realistic physical attributes that decrease after major injuries or as the player gets older
- Accurate play types
- Accurate contracts

- Accurately updated Coaching profiles and playbooks

- Draft classes that have realistic player information for every player

- A few slider sets designed to be a base for realistic game play

Give URB a try and please leave feedback. We're confident that you will agree this is the most realistic and accurate 2k project there is!

I'm planning on updating the NCAA mod when my copy of 2K11 arrives soon so could you please make a tutorial video or written tutorial because I plan on finally achieving my goal I stated up above.

If you want to do it, I'll send you a blank spreadsheet with my formulas and give you advice on how to use it. I don't have and am not planning on creating a written or video tutorial, though.

Played some 2K11 last night, this game still holds up very well. The graphics are also satisfactory (And in some cases better than 2K14 for PC).

Personally, I feel the gameplay in 2K11 blows away 2K18.

I wont be modding this game, but if people continue to make mods for it Ill certainly use them!

I'd be interested in that. I'm still a ways of releasing anything for NBA 2K11, but I'd definitely be keen to get any insight on ratings formulas.

If you have any questions, ask here. The spreadsheet is set up to be compatible with basketball-reference.com All statistics you need are found on that site.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1XyAJaC ... sp=sharing

It will be difficult to build NCAA rosters that are older than 2002 or 2003. Some stats weren't recorded before then.

Great to see so much interest still for 2k11, the best 2k basketball game of all time. Was wondering if anyone could tell me f I'm imagining thisnor if it's true. Retro short shorts seem longer and baggier than they are in 2k13 or 2k14. To the point that I can't even play prior to the early 90s. Did shorts get shorter in more recent games?

I second that statement :D

I'm not a fan of retro teams so I wouldn't know anything about that sorry.

RetroFuture noted this in another topic:

RetroFuture wrote:

2K11 only had two short lengths: 1. current/long (used also for classic team from 1991 to 1998) and 2. retro/medium (used for classic teams up to 1991).

The final version of this mod (posted by Spree1985) has medium shorts. The beta has long shorts...

I'd say that's the difference you're noticing.
