Best Fadeaway Jumper Today

Postby VCFAN on Mon Sep 13, 2004 10:52 am

Who would you guys say has the best fadeaway jumper in the game today. By that respects I mean who has the best form, biggest fade, and obviously who can hit it the best. Which players have hit impossible fadeaways in their days, which leaves you drooling on the floor, wanting more.

I know everyone hear would probably agree for the most part the mj had the best of all time, so lets stick to players in the league today.

I will say mine in a bit.

Kevin Garnett has the best fadeaway jumper, he hardly goes in the paint, 74% of his attempts are jumpers, and he shoots a high percentage on his jumpers for a big man, very high, and every jumper he takes is basically a fadeaway.

Kobe Bryant.

Fade-away pivoting on either leg, pump-fakes galore. Falling away to the baseline. I think he has the best form.

I also like KG's fadeaway. At 7-foot, it's nearly unstoppable; he killed the Lakers with it in 2003 playoffs.

Other than that, I don't know that many players who have it in their consistent arsenal. Stackhouse? A little bit. Vince Carter? Paul Pierce?

All the best,

Eugene

mine would have to be peja, and carter for the two best. peja is like 6'9 so it's very easy for him to shoot over people. His fade away is also very accurate.

I chose Carter for the reason of how much he actually fades. I have a clip of him hitting a fade- away 3 pointer over a man on the buzzer to win the game. He does fade away's quite frequently and sometimes I wish he would take it to the hole more, but nonetheless his fade is very pretty to watch.

I think it's Garnett, he fades so far back and is so tall it's almost impossible to stop his fades. And the reason he spends so little time in the post is because he is so damn weak. He has muscles but he is pretty skinny and can't really post anyone up.

wow, kobe gets no love,

anyway, Kobe Bryant, hands down.

Kobe Bryant is a young, developing replica of Micheal Jordan, and his fadeway is a great example.
When he does it, he defends always leaves him open, because his juke is so quick, and he just raises up over everyone, not to metion he has a pretty jumper

what i said, what eugene said, and more

Kobe Bryant best fadeaway jumper, period.

Kobe has the most Jordan-like fadeaway, but it's not nearly as deadly. He doesn't have the elevation that Jordan had, nor has he been able to hit it on a consistent basis.

Pierce has a nice little mid-range fadeaway where he posts up on one side, does a 180 pivot, faces his opponent, and fades away. It's one of the best shots in his repetoire.

Still, no one has the fadeaway that Jordan had, which is the most deadly mid range shot of all time. Jordan mastered it and made it his, and I havent really seen anyone come close to him in this area.

I forgot about LeBron. He is not one of the best but I've seen him pull some sick fades. Like the one he did over Artest, Boozer got the ball stripped and it was going into the corner. LeBron got to it before Artest and he faked one way, shot the other. Made it and got fouled, it was just inside the three-point line. I've seen him do those a couple of times but KG is still better.

You do have a point there but he asked "who has the best fade away jumper in the game today?".

Speaking of fadeaway jumpers, I hope a better one is implemented in NBA 2K5 this year. Last years' sucked. I think either Kobe or T-Mac has the best fadeaway nowadays.

Yao likes to fade on a lot of his jumpshots which he needs to stop doing since he can shoot over most defenders... he does hit half of them though...

KGs fadeaway has to be the most effective of today. i also like Pierces fadeaway from mid-range and T-Macs fadeaway for three.

not really a good fadeaway shooter but Bruce Bowens one fadeaway from behing the backboard shooting it over it was sick, he also got fouled on that one.

KG just because of his acuracy.

Kobe for his sweetness & arsenal/wide range of shots he's able to take.

Tracy's fadeaway isn't as sweet as the two above but I enjoy watching him shoot it, he's tall so it looks nice when he shoots. Especially from the three-point line. Paul Pierce has a pretty "standard" jumper imho. If he does do the fade-away it isn't as evident as it is with Bryant & Garnett. Garnett will post & fade on you. Always does.

Are we talking about making the shot or making it look nice lol?

Jordan's fadeaway looked nice, but the biggest thing about it was that it went in, I mean I'm not looking for you to show charisma if you don't make the shot?

I saw someone saying Kobe get's no love, well compared to KG his fadeway percentage isn't as good, so who has the better fadeway? I mean any player can work on making their fade look nice...

1) Kevin Garnett
2) Kobe Bryant
3) Vince Carter because that's all Vince does
4) Tracy McGrady
5) Andre Miller someone no one mentioned, his offense is the post up game, and his fadeaway is very nice.
6) Paul Pierce

I don't really see Peja fading much, Reggie neither, they don't really shoot fadeaway's...

Hehe, that's why I said McGrady has a nice form/look to it. Notice I put Garnett & Bryant ahead of McGrady?
