Baron Davis hasn't aged when it comes to face details, that might as well be a recent scan. + He appeared in a great number of Inside the TNT episodes, along with Chris Webber. Maybe they will have some side-court action for NBA 2K18 - maybe that's why his game face is spot on. Still waiting to see Chris Webber's face though. I forgot they had one of those behind-the-back previews for him too.

So they capable of this without time machine? I think I've seen a lot better faces here than 2k originals. Sorry I will not

We can't compare the 2K faces to modded faces because modders are just building on what 2K has created and are not creating from scratch. They could have used a recent scan of both Davis and Bryant and just made minor adjustments as pointed out below.

In the Baron Davis photo I noticed that the Andrei Kirilenko model is not appropriate for that year by looking at his hair. Also Baron Davis appears to be wearing 2016 hyperdunks.
That is all fine with me. We know that is Kobe Bryant, We know it's Baron Davis. We know there will be some inaccuracies. As long as these models have received some attention and we are able to edit accessories, we should be ok.

And plus, with 2K, half the fun is fixing everything with mods. Game wouldn't be nearly as fun for me if everything was flawless.

Every year, the thing I look forward to the most is when the game is first released, going through all the faces using the Limnono Modifier. It takes a couple days, but man... when you find a player you can use in a roster... its the best feeling. When I found Webber last year, I almost had a heart attack I was so excited.

I just noticed that Kobe is wearing a bicep band, which was so common during the mid-2000's and no player uses anymore. Pretty cool. I remember trying to convert one of the elbow bands into a bicep band by editing 3d models back in NBA 2k14, but I'm not talented enough for that.

Am i the only one that don't like 2k's sloppiness? How many year's will take 2k to fix basically things. For example. Kobe face just few post earlier. What's that? Is it face and body from nba 2k16 to prime Kobe? Are you kidding me? I hope this is just example for rating reveal and that face will be not in the game. Kobe face in All time Lakers screenshot. Sorry, I'm not impressed. Same thing with T-mac etc. every year. In other hand they can post very good Baron Devis face. Is it that hard to make proper faces?

Not sure where the glaring differences are that require a re-scan...The beard is a bit scarce in 2k but its not like Gordon is rocking a full beard. Plus the modding community could fix that within minutes.

Personally, I'm thoroughly impressed with the visual side of 2k this year. Especially having face scans for players like Wayne Seldon Jr. and Caris Levert. Hopefully makes adding the missing players easier.

This thread is also for the console users. They don't have the luxury to expect everything to get modded. I get the fact that they can't get rescans for bench warmers, but the SMOY should get on the top of list for rescans.

In addition to that, it's clear Gordon has the same face as in 2K15 + a few details added to match the new level of graphics. It looks low quality in comparison to other players.



Hopefully, they tweak him before the release of the game as we've seen with Kawhi. No beard in the screenshots, yet he appears to have a beard in the ghetto footage.

It's unexpected to see Westbrook under 95. Then Harden will be 95+ player. Funny.
