There was spirited debate about it, and it's probably not going to end just because he won it, but I think he had a strong case and it's well-deserved. He had an historic season and carried the Thunder to a very respectable record, given the players they lost in the offseason. Him carrying that much of the load isn't a recipe for great success in the long run, but it's appropriate recognition for what he was able to achieve this year. Hats off to him.
