Yes and its happening to me too now. I dropped players I didn't even need to drop to try to get Avery Bradley back into my lineup and now it won't let me put him in regardless of roster size!

So I took a look at it and since you made the drop today it reflects in next weeks roster. Dumb, I know since you can still edit lineups. I tried wielding my commissioner powers but they're giving me the same error message so unfortunately you won't be able to get him in this week. I've added Powell back to you roster
