REMINDER TO MODDERS

Anyone that has modded 2K16 files with the old import method, verify your game cache and delete manifest_g if you're running into any issues with the game post-patch. Also, refrain from using the 2K16 Explorer to import files. Installing mods is now done with this plugin:

viewtopic.php?f=221&t=100128

Of course, creating mods is still done with the Explorer.

It's also worth noting to mod creators that every single player model seems to be removed from the team archives and they're now scattered all over the place. Just use the manifest file to find these files.

okay, so i need a little help.. After the patch i couldnt get out of the nba 2k16 loading screen at the start. I am verifying my game cache and deleting manifest g. Will i be able to put my modded files back in? (like can i put my OD modded file over the other one?) or am i conpletely screwed and need to start from scratch?

This sucks right now honestly... Im worried ill have to start all over..

No, you can't use the old archives. But why would you want to? Just put all your mods you've made into the modded folder with the new plugin.

I feel like an idiot. Let me try to explain super quick what happened..

I had portraits that my brother and I made placed in the game (all the 92-93 Suns, 10-11 Mavs and 08-09 Lakers, as well as portraits for added players on retro teams like Wayne Cooper, Danny Young, Chucky Brown, Carl Herrera etc). They are obviously all gone now after I verified game cache (however, I did backup all my files, as in I still have OD, etc). How do I use the tool to simply put those back in? If I want to use Barkleys Portrait... on Barkley... How would I do that? Also, Limnono tool is amazing, and I can still use that... but NBA 2k16 explorer is finished... I cant get any files loaded using it, not one (I tried re extracting the folder, etc, no luck). Do we need to wait for a completely new 2k16 explorer?

Another thing, so I was successful in a 100% overwrite of 3 euro teams (to add the teams mentioned above)... Courts, refs, ball. crowd, dornas, jerseys, logos etc.... They are obviously back to being euro teams after the game cache updated. Can you explain how I can use this tool to create those teams again? Or was that something I needed to do with 2K16 Explorer?

Sorry for all the questions, just really frustrated with the hours and days of work we put into this... for a lot of it to be missing...

Sorry, I don't have Skype ATM. Im playing on a 50 inch tv, no webcam and no working Laptop. You are a great help to the community... sorry I don't have the tools right now.

BTW, and example of the portrait thing.... when using 2k16 explorer, we overwrote Blatche's portrait with Barkleys. So now in my roster, Barkley has Blatche portrait...

TBM, this tool is insane. Thank you... it works perfect.

Couple of quick questions.

1. Has anybody tried creating a file with the same format (Like renaming a portrait to a file name not in use), and try using the Limnono tool to make it work in game?

2. Also, this is really tough without being able to see what the file looks like for new mods (with no iff viewer), expectation of release?

I haven't. My guess is the trainer doesn't even work anymore with this new patch.

Sorry... btw I tried question 1, didn't work.

For the second question, I cant view the files with 2k explorer.... Im saying that we cant view the files anymore.

Ahh gotcha, I realized I had the files before the patch anyway (backed them up). So that's good.

TBM, I don't know why the Explorer is not able to read PngXXX.iff, but to the FaceXXX.iff, it works well.
