Timberwolves announce signing of Tayshaun Prince

The Minnesota Timberwolves have announced the signing of veteran forward Tayshaun Prince.

The Wolves agreed to terms last week with Prince on a one-year deal for the veteran minimum. The contract became official on Thursday, giving the Wolves another veteran to mentor a young roster.

Kind of surprised to see him leave Detroit, especially for a team that really isn't in much better of a position. He should be a good mentor for the younger players though, and while his best days are behind him, he can probably still make a positive contribution on the floor here and there. It's not like he'll be called upon to do too much, I would have to imagine.

Minnesota's young players should be happy about the veterans they're signing.

Tayshaun always reminded me of best of 2k era Pistons. Everyone's retired and he's the last one still playing in the league. Damn, time flies fast.

Too bad he isn't going to the contender though.

Minny is the new retirement hotspot... Dre Miller.... KG... and now Prince too.

I like the idea of surrounding there young core with vets, I have always loved the older greats passing he torch as they say.
