Nah, I always found it kind of amusing. Perplexing, because I'm quite obviously someone who isn't in a position to do anything about it, but I guess I'm easier to contact than the league front office.

I'd say no drafts. Let the players play where they wanna play (hometown teams) If this happens, tanking is pointless. I hate tanking

Tanking's an overblown problem that's already addressed by having a lottery system in the first place.

The reason I like the nba so much is because of the cap, growing up in England around the premier league football where teams just throw bags of money at the best players really hurts the development of locally grown players coming up the ranks.
Even tho no cap would be great for my knicks as Dolan would just keep spending I still wouldn't want it become a who has the most money pissing contest as it would be a death sentence to the small city teams and there fans.

Another misconception. Bags of money or not, if a local player is good enough to be noticed he will get noticed.

I get what your saying but from what I have seen first hand with Liverpool football club is that good players who should really get a look in on the first team are stuck behind ££££ million pound players who are world class proven and so there development is slowed right down.

It is actually the Lottery system's fault. Get rid of the Draft, so we can see these superteams

The Draft Lottery was implemented to lessen the incentive to tank, by taking away the guaranteed number one pick from the team with the worst record. Seeing as how only four teams with the worst record and four teams with the second worst record have won the lottery since it was implemented in 1985, I'd say it's been effective in ensuring that teams can't easily lose their way to the top pick. Granted, it doesn't stop teams from trying, but if one or two teams each year are willing to bottom out in the name of starting over, I say good luck to them, and condolences to their fans on the rough few years ahead.

Not all drafted players have to make the team (for the 2nd round to 21st round). The summer league can feature 30 players. Not all of them have to make the team. And, no, I'm not trying to replace all the players with just rookies.

That's pretty much what happens now, the nba refers to theses players as... undrafted...

What is the sense of drafting more players then not getting on the team?
