NLSC Greatest of All-time: #28

Fri Jul 31, 2015 8:21 pm

-30th number of the many

-#27 was won by Zaza Pachulia

-#28 is still boring

-You can vote for players in any way you want: On-court impact, Off-court impact, championships etc.

Nominees:

1. DJ Mbenga (2004-05 to 2010-11)

P/36R/36A/36TS%OrtgDrtgPERWs/48
9.58.10.9.4909710210.8.075

* He is probably best known for getting in a fight with teammate Chris Mihm during practice, or for being a black-belt.

Mbenga didn't do much during his NBA career, yet he won 2 NBA titles and made more than 10 million dollars.

2. Andrew Lang (1988-89 to 1999-00)

10.48.21.0.51610510511.7.089

* Lang was a role player for most of his career, like everyone on this list. He was a better offensive player than Mbenga.

Lang had a better career, and even had a good Playoff series against the Jazz in 1991. His Suns lost in 4 but he was good from the bench. 139 Ortg, .703 TS% on just 14 minutes per game. He was also good that year during the regular season.

3. Ian Mahinmi (2007-08 to 2014-15)

P/36R/36A/36TS%OrtgDrtgPERWs/48
10.39.00.7.5511059911.8.120

* Statistically, the best player on the list. Won a title with Dallas, and played good for both the Mavs and Spurs.

He's still a solid role big in Indiana, but this list is so boring I'm just going to end it here.

Other Notable Player Shoutout

Nobody.

God, this is even worse than #27... #29 isn't too promising, either. Anyway, i voted for babyface Lang.

I'll go for Hibbert's brother from another mother, Mahinmi

This is not a very good number, voted for Congo Ca$h anyway because he is my favorite from the three.

Ian Mahinmi.

This number's quite horrendous.

Andrew Lang, because he's an Andrew. Also, he was born on June 28th and was the 28th pick of the Draft in 1988, so he owns the number #28 in NBA circles.

And also, because it's not much of a competition, and he found a home in the NBA for 12 seasons. Obscure number, not a lot of noteworthy players, but all the same, he's probably the best of the bunch.

I'll take Lang for the reasons Andrew outlined. Not a clear-cut winner like "never nervous" Pervis will be for #29.
