I wouldn't say that's entirely true. They certainly were compensated for the talent, the salaries just weren't that high compared to the deals that are being handed out today. During the mid 90s they kind of threw out the yardstick and players seemed to feel they were worth much more than teams were willing to pay (Glenn Robinson sitting out because he wanted a $69 million deal in his rookie year, Penny Hardaway making a similar threat because he wanted a $90 million extension that same year, his second season in the league).

they're all arrogant. just some more then others. you can't be a star and be successful in this league without having some kind of edge. duncan is probably one cocky mofo just doesn't show it in the public eye

yeah I agree, I dont think arrogance or cockyness is a bad thing at all, aslong as players wont start like Iverson who rather dont play a game then miss a game. If all those players wouldnt be cocky (specially Kobe and T-Mac), I dont see them become any better then Deshawn Stevenson or that kind of players, well...they might be better, but nowhere near the level as they are at today.

Hey, if Brent Barry can do a C-Walk...I dont see why Tim Duncan cant do it, maybe he can teach Tim now they are teammates.

The only badass gangsta thing Tim has done is pushing the ref. Hes so freakin ghetto.

anyway, hehe, i think certain players demand to much, not all, i mean the Garnetts,Kobes,Shaqs etc. all probably deserve there money, for what they';ve done up to that point, but others who get their dollars(ie Michael Olowakandi) and then do jack shit the rest of there career are the most annoying, and yet there still arrogant. I mean candi just chews him gum cocky!
shit!
