I can't believe this shit. I had to go in and rebound for this bitch, and now he's playing for the Boomer. Yes that's right :x
I thought he looked familiar, and certainly his first name, that face and the commentator saying he's 19 years old rang a bell, but I figured "Nah it can't be"... then I checked on the internet and yes, this is the same guy I played with.

Few years ago I played a few rep games, I was 17, he was 15, he was still taller than me. He was a goofy bitch though, tallest guy on the team but he wanted to shoot threes and handle the ball. I left because my folks couldn't drive me to games. He stayed, then later on I heard he actually cried at one of the games because he didn't get enough shots, and he left for another club. Now he's on the Boomers, and here I am, NLSC veteran and all

Well good luck to him, but remember, when he went to the bench I got on the court and blocked the guy who scored on him the previous play :D

hehehe.

Hey Steven....apparently Bogut was 15 and cried cause he didnt make reps and moved to different place...i think that might be the situation you talked about...

And his dad got him a Persaonal Trainer....and suddenly he became good

bad luck for you!

Lol this sounds like one of those "I just saw the Terence & Phillip movie... who wants to touch me?
...

I SAID WHO WANTS TO TOUCH ME!!! :x "-threads. ;)

Pretty cool that you've played with a future NBA player though.

don't get me wrong guys, I'm not trying to bag him out, just kind of suprised, I had no idea this was happening because I was only in 'basketball circles' for a short time.

With the crying incident Sit, that's probably another occassion on which he cried. The story I heard was that he was upset about not getting enough shots, and cried after one of the games or something like that. There would have never been a question about him being on the team we were on, but that was under 18's second team. Perhaps he wanted to make the first team, and didn't and then had a sook about that. The first team was much better, no as soft. I think David Barlow was on the Sydney Kings roster last season, and he was on that first team.

Some of these rep-ball kids are spoilt whingers. I found a lot of them to be that way, except for a couple of guys. I was trying out for the team, and I'd played for my first team that year at 17. I improved a lot over a short period of time, but you can't learn confidence and make up for years of mental preparation in a short time. So as I was trying out a couple of guys were really great and supportive, while the rest ignored me. Felt like they were snobby rich kids. Too fucking bad so many of them were soft, including Bogut. He was talented, and only 15 in under 18's but I didn't think he was that good, and certainly things can really change in 4 years. He was definately fortunate enough that his parents did so much for him, I got the feeling even back then that he had things his way. Who else would cry over petty shit at 15 years old. He was also fortunate enough to grow to 6'10, and of course he had talent. Good luck to him as I said before.

I sucked though, and I wasn't confident (and stuck up) like some of those tools  Had my parents been able to taxi me around when I was 11 years old though, you never know, there may be less suckage in my game today! :D :P

LOL that guy's smart. B-ball and Tennis are very competitive, but Volleyball? We don't even have a pro league here - I know because my cousin in europe plays and wanted me to look into it so he could come and play here... lol, no go because nobody cares! :)

I was 13 when I started playing under 18's, unfortunately my growth didn't take the same route as Boguts.

Well- these guys are most probably for a normal person, one of those guys who you only meet once in a lifetime.... I dunno if u understand. I'm trying to say Zane and Bogut to whoever knew them- might be the only athlete you may meet and know for a while...for a lot of people these guys only come around once in your life....

Yeah- I can boast that my friend in my class from last and this year is gonna be a star in long jump. Can't say his name in case he kills me. All I can say is he can jump about 7.77m and is no. 1 in the world for U18's and came 4th at the Juniors meet in Italy...which is U20's comp. He's only 16 btw.... so yeah- I know a freak too!

I went to school with Greg Bird, he plays in the NRL for Cronulla. He used to come down to the field with Matt Lantry (plays reserves for Parramatta) and they'd play in our games, I smashed Bird once but it was after he passed the ball so I don't think that counts.
