Flagrant fouls

So we all knew that you could get fouled hard and get into a fight during a cutscene, but today I found out the hard way that you can get flagrant foul during the game:

My question is: did anyone get Flagrant 2 already?

That's really cool. But I wonder though - if the programmers bothered to put this in the game, why not make it happen a little more frequently? I mean, I've played 120 hours of the game already and haven't once encountered it.

There aren't that many flagrant fouls called in the NBA anyway. It probably depends on lots of parameters, my guy isn't very good defender yet stats wise.
And I love that the foul really looks like something refs would call flagrant.

These little things are great. I remember playing 2K12 with a friend of mine and when I hit a very close buzzer beater the refs went for a replay and we were totally like "omg this is so cool"

PS: No cutscene regarding this appeared during this game or after it, so I'm sure this was not scripted.

Yep, I love those moments. There are so many of them in 2k15, where you have to do the replay and wonder "did that just happen? "

The scripted "injury" to the star on your team in MyPlayer (so that you can supposedly take over the team and dominate), is totally fake though. Twice, I had Cousins and Gay shoot wide wide open jumpers with no one near them to step on, and then end up landing and grabbing their ankles in pain. It's still kinda cool though that they'd even bother making it show up in the game instead of just saying in between games that the guy got injured.

I doubt I would be able to get a flagrant 1. I could barely contest a shot when a player goes into the paint because they won't jump(or they will be pushed to the baseline) even if I repeatedly press the block button and it only happens if someone has like a clear path to the rim with your shot blocker under the rim.

This is my 6'8" SF, wingspan 102 or 103.
Defence lvl 8 right now.
I average about 2 blocks per game. Some blocks are from front, some are from side and some are even from behind.
It's not just about pressing nlock button.

My mindset, both in 2K and real life basketball, is "no easy layups". However this time my char decided to do a bit more

I always dreaming and hoping the devs/programmers of this game will include the user decision in taking hard fouls or technicals.. For example, if the defender hits the offensive player a hard foul and both or one of the players or maybe the offensive player have short temper or known for cheap fights inside the court, some user interaction will automatically pop up .. asking for user input.. if they want to confront the defensive player with a trash talk only or physical contact.. The game can also allow the player to continuously press that button for keeping the trash talking and will result to a technical foul or ejection maybe.. Basically it is the call of the user or the player if he will go dirty or calm .. I know adding this feature will add some spice to the game and also not good for the young ones playing this game.. but maybe .. what you think?

Yea, that would be something, but i doubt 2k is gonna go so deep to put oncourt trashtalking in the game Would be fun tho.As for the flagrant foul, doubt ill ever be able to do it with 5'7 PG

I imagine this is exactly the kind of thing that league isn't too fond of.

But in MyCareer you can initiate a fight or argue and insult ref until you get ejected, so there's that.
Plus I believe you can still get technical for swearing

I think it's really cool to have them in the game as they are in real life part of the game.

Had my first against the Pistons, I was the Twolves and ran a p&r with Rubio to big Nik when I got hammered by Monroe.

Question, how do you commit a FF yourself because there are sure are times I'd like to nail the cpu AI when it's driving to the rim

afaik there is no manual way to trigger it, Turbo + Block is what I hit in that online game.

Yeah, when I went for the block while running it happened. Also recently someone did this to me (CPU).

I had never seen a flagrant foul in a video game until Reggie Evans flagrantly fouled me twice in the same game and got ejected yesterday

There is actually a video on YouTube of someones kings mygm season and in the video it shows you that Reggie Evans has being suspended for the season, not sure what for tho

First time I saw the CPU commit a flagrant foul against me was when I was playing vs the Warriors and I was using the Lakers in MyLeague (just check my story thread) . What I did was drive to the lane and out of nowhere, Bogut pushed Ross out of the paint and was rejected after the game. When I went into replay mode, Bogut's elbow kind of hit Ross' neck and maybe that's why he was given a Foul 2 and got ejected.
