Hex editing roster saves.

I am requesting for anyone who is getting a early edition to please post a roster save so I may review it in Hex . To see what might be editable out of the box. I am not getting it off steam , but dvd disc and wont get till Tuesday.

Mods feel free to move this or close this if its not cool.

This is a good idea. I'm still on the fence about getting the game day 1 for PC. I would need to get a new desktop but that is a few hundred dollars I don't want to spend for the sole purpose of playing 2k15. However, I still would like to help provide mods.

All I ask is if you do figure out the hex values, that you'd share them. Main thing I need to be able to edit are team colors, headbands, and headband colors. Everything else of importance should be able to be edited in game.

I think we're gonna need this for shoes too. For what I've seen shoe customization is still pretty basic...

some of you do not seem to know me but I have been working with Vlad on Reditor/ REDMC since 2k11. I was the one that always posted full detailed list of art and audio files that have been built into the tool.

Yeah, I remember you from OS. Thanks for all that you do for the community. If someone hasn't already posted a file once it comes out, I will definitely share it with you.

I don't think any current tool will work with new 2k15 files. But I would love to be wrong.

It's great news having you back in! Let's see what that .ROS file has for us!

We can have 3 scenarios:

- File with aligned bytes as they were until 2K12 --> This would be the ideal, and I think we would be able to figure things out pretty quickly.
- File with not aligned bytes (as in 2K13 & 14) --> Slower to decipher but still possible.
- File completely new and encrypted --> Only Vlad can help us!

Well it looks like when I pick mine up from gamestop its only a download code
and apperently people are saying its going to take 13 hours to install so hopefully this is
not the case, my internet connection isnt too bad so cross your fingers

TheGame8544 just sent me a "roster save" he was not sure if it is an actually one or not. But I looked at it in hex and it is nothing close to what we have seen since 2k10. hope he sent the wrong one. It's weird that the file doesn't have any extension, previously all of them were .ros or .sro files. I'll take a look when I arrive home.

Yea this is how the save file location looks. I copied the roster save posted above to the save directory overwriting my original save to see if it would load and it loaded fine.



Seems like smaller files compared to 2k14.

BTW here are my 2 roster files and the rostermanifest file in a zip.
