NBA 2K15 PC specifications released!

Talk about NBA 2K15 here.

You should think about getting a new desktop PC. The only time you should use a laptop for gaming is if you travel often and need your gaming fix while your out. But if you are just sitting in your bedroom playing games for hours, you definitely need a desktop. A good laptop is more expensive than a good desktop PC as well.

Hey, people have been running games like Watch Dogs (and that's not exactly optimalizated game) on those at low resolutions and details at 25 fps. I can imagine him running 2K15 at 30 fps with res around 720p.
That said you won't know if it'll be playable until you try. And even then there won't be any graphic orgies happening.

I can run Watch Dogs at 30 fps with all low except aliasing. Anyways, here's to hoping I can play and mod the shit out of 2k15 :chug: :chug:

Yeah, so they either made a mistake originally, or they optimized the game more since they released the specs originally.

I'm thinking they released those broad specs based on the likelihood of what the game would need before they did any benchmarking tests on the final build. Then lowered it when they tested it and determined that a decent i5 would be enough to run it well.

In the demo for FIFA15 there aren't many visual customization options, but with the resolution maxed, rendering set to high, full screen, and no limit for frame rate, the game plays very smooth and fast with any camera angle. I do get some lag if it shows camera shots with just the crowd (during breaks) and during intros, but the gameplay looks very smooth. I wish it had a benchmark feature in the demo.

What can you guys tell me based off this information in terms of what I can expect from 2k15? If there is anything else I can tell you, ask and I'll try to answer.

EDIT: I also can run 2k13 and 14 maxed out with all kinds of mods and a global at 55 frames per second. I don't know if that helps or not.

What makes this mod “sim”? Here are a few of the features that set this project apart from all others:

- Every art file (jerseys, arenas, cyberfaces, accessories, courts, dornas (advertisement at half court), etc is realistic and none will crash game play
- There is no missing art file in the entire project

Every player in every roster has:
- Accurate statistical ratings and tendencies to work with 2k's simulation engine while still providing realistic game play
- Realistic ratings and tendencies that affect game play but not the simulation engine ie dribbling, athletic ratings, post tendencies, etc.
- Realistic physical attributes that decrease after major injuries or as the player gets older
- Accurate play types
- Accurate contracts

- Accurately updated Coaching profiles and playbooks

- Draft classes that have realistic player information for every player

- A few slider sets designed to be a base for realistic game play

I have an 1.7GHZ i3 processor with 6 gigs of ram and an Intel HD graphics chip.

Game-debate says that I can't run 2k13 or 14, but like I said, I can max those out and run consistently at mid 50's. I can't tell how many frames I get on FIFA 15 but it's butter on the field.

I also tried the demo and when they are introducing the players and it shows the crowd in the background it studders slightly for me too. I think that has more to do with the game than it does your hardware. I think you should be fine with your setup for now and that you should be in at least decent shape to play the game. After 2K15 comes out you will then be in a much better position to know whether you need to upgrade. The prices on the older nVidia cards are going to be dropping since the new 900 series was released last week too. Also the game is only 9 days away, so your best bet would be to wait.

If you want to tell your system specs you could get a more informed opinion.

It sounds like you have one of the i3 laptops released last year. Is that right? I figured they were junk but they seem to be performing pretty well.

It's pretty crazy that it looks like I'm going to be able to run 2k15 on a laptop that just cost me 325 bucks and doesn't have what is considered a decent video card.

Based on specs, I would say absolutely. Based on how it runs Fifa15 and 2k13/14, I find that hard to believe. Technically speaking, what I have doesn't meet the minimum specs for 2k13/14 or Fifa15 but it runs them all and runs them well. That's why I wanted to ask here.

And always keep in mind that those mostly theoretical requirements... Generaly for higher resolutions, so if you play on something lower (and you're fine with it) you obviously gonna get better results.
Sure, if the game doesn't support DX9, then you won't run it on XP/older graphics cards.
But processing units can be overclocked, memory can be swapped onto ssd, new OS install vs. years old one matters too...
Plus there are always some secrets between the heavens and memory bus :)

What I ask myself...On systemquirementslab, the recommended GPU is listed as: 2 GB VRAM and DX 11 (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 or AMD Radeon R7 260)

Well...my GTX 650 Ti Boost has 2 GB VRAM and DX11 Support... but referring to the website it wouldn't meet recommended specs... Any thoughts on that?

These sites (SRL, GameDebate, whatever) are either copying those specs - if they're released in detail or they're guessing them - this case. (GameDebate refines those based on user experience I believe)
My GTX460 has DX11 support and 2GB VRAM, but it will run considerably worse than GTX 770.

Also note that "recommended specs" is somewhat vague term. For minimal ones you can expect that the game won't be enjoyable or run at all if you don't meet them. For recommended you don't really know what it means - playing game at max settings? At 1080p? At 4K?
Sometimes you see something like "For 60fps at high details at 1080p you should meet or exceed these specs:".

Hey guys.
A few weeks back I preordered NBA 2K15 from Green Man Gaming, as after a voucher/coupon it was $45.
Anyway I was wondering if anybody has used them in the past to preorder NBA 2K14, 13, etc and if so, when did you receive your game serial?

I hope its a day or two before hand or at least within the first few minutes after midnight on release day.

Thanks

I pre-ordered Stick of Truth through GMG. From memory, I was able to install it a day or two beforehand, then it unlocked on the release date, ready to go.
