Isn't the disc version only available in Europe?

@hadley88

Just contacted amazon.de Support. They told me, the physical copy of the game will also include a Steam activation key! :applaud:

Same here. But if you look at the cover of the PC version, not the "steam code" version, you will see this cover: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/9 ... L1500_.jpg
maybe a hint, that its still steam compatible?

Edit: A great, UniversalNoob! :D

My guess is that there'll be Steam integration for the disc version as well, to handle VC purchases and perhaps any DLC.

A Steam Integration that big, that PC servers will be run by steam would be really, really great! But i cannot see that happen :(

I believe what Andrew said is correct. Using steamworks, it makes micro transactions easier for developers(according to steam). So it's safe to think that all pc copies will be using steam.

Not really. Just 500 for the reservation. But the saleslady told me that it will almost surely not exceed 2000 PHP in total.

That would probably mean that they would also save money because they wouldn't have to develop their own DRM copyright protection. Or not have to pay another company to do it. Steam is pretty much good for everybody. Except maybe other publishers.

Update on this. The store I bought from just posted on Facebook that PC will be a code-in-a-box. smh
Should've just preordered from Steam as it is cheaper. If only the reservation fee is refundable.

As I posted, a real Disc Version is likely only available in Europe. So funny that a few of us got it for 19.95€ because Amazon.de still had the Price of last years Game early on, before the NexGen stuff was revealed.

I really hope Amazon has the physical copy.. It would take me a week to download 40+GB.. :( My internet blows.. & I hope the physical copy doesn't just send you to steam to download like Saints Row..

I don't see the point of having a code in a box? Unless maybe you didn't have a credit or debit card and needed to pay cash. Other than that, I just don't get it.

Well some people prefer buying games at their retailer (bonus programs etc), but it's less costly to print a code rather than pack dvd or two (or even more).
Plus some people want to have the box - for example I could've got the Diablo 3 from digital distribution, but I got the box version, even though I didn't even use the disc and downloaded the whole thing anyway - I just wanted something to show for my shelf.

I was about to go to their store today, but they mentioned that it is in fact just a digital key inside the box. I guess that's what they meant when they said "physical copy" LOL. I will just buy it on Steam, much cheaper. It will take forever to download though. Third world country internet problems. :(

Hey guys,

Just pre-ordered my version of 2K15 on Steam when it dawned on me, and it might be a stupid question but- do Steam games get saved to the hard drive?

In the past I've only ever bought the hard copy PC versions of 2K, and on those all my game folders for modding were C:>>Program Files>> 2K etc, but I've noticed that with my other Steam games, I can't find where they're actually located on my C: drive.

Obviously I'm concerned with regards to modding. If I just bought the game and can't mod it I will cry tears of unfathomable sadness.

Anybody with Steam experience, how's this work?

They get saved to your harddrive, but some games also get Steam Cloud support which means they get their saves stored on Steam servers in addition to your hdd.

However, given the nature of VC and modes using them, the game will have some security in order to prevent players from getting VC easily via CheatEngine etc.
This can be done by having actual saves on the 2K servers and having irrelevant data saves on your local.

Given this, we should be able to mod visuals of the game (from security standpoint) etc

EDIT: Oh, I misread that and thought you were asking for game saves.
In that case:
Games are installed into you steam library, which by default is X://Program Files/Steam/SteamApps/common/... where X is drive you installed Steam on.
Also if you run 64bit OS replace "Program Files" with "Program Files(x86)" in the path.

Note that this can be changed in Steam settings and you can define your own library locations - where you install your games (for Windows I use C://Games/ for games I want to have on my SSD and D://Games for games I don't).
