No problem. I just like to see people from the community get what they want.

Agreed. I have played the most live I have ever played with this Patch.

Thanks again Andrew (Y)

Thanks for the roster patch Andrew :). I'm having a problem though. I played some with the new roster, then went back to today's roster. The courts are still the old ones and the logo still the NBC one. Is there a quick fix to this?

Wow...Nice work. Better than those patches on nbalive.org. Thanx for this patch, now I can play my old favorite 96-supersonics. By the way, I was shocked that how good GodenState worrior is at that time..Anyways...Good job!

Thanks for the comments everyone, I'm glad to see so many people eager to try this patch out. :)

Hmm, that shouldn't happen. :? I'm not sure what's gone wrong there.

FanOfAll wrote:Wow, thanks a bunch Andrew! How the hell did 2 people rate this a 1? It's definitely a 10, the mere fact that's it's so extensive.

My current roster update usually attracts a few "1" votes as well, so either my work is not up to some people's expectations or there are a few people out there who simply like to be overly critical. I just have to do the best work I can and try to please the majority. ;)

Slam harder wrote:Who made that Mario Elie cyberface btw? It looks great

I believe Zach contributed that patch. :)

chipper wrote:I just have one question if anyone can answer for me. Is there a way to turn all these folders in xplayer into viv files? Just that I am a big fan of 'customart 0'

If you use VivMagic or EAGE I believe you can import the custom art files into the original .vivs.

The easiest method I can think of would be to move the xcourt folder to another folder elsewhere on your hard drive along with xoverlay.viv and overfng.viv. Restore those two .viv files from your NBA Live 2004 CD. Sorry for the trouble.

Sorry about that! I'll fix up the credits for the next release and here on the download page.

Excellent patch. Played it for ages yesterday!!

Just a couple of little things I've seen so far though.
- The sonics jersey numbers on their backs are a bit distorted. They see to stretch on the left side.
- I think his name is George McCloud, his face is really really dark, if not entirely black. Doesn't seem to have a face
- George Karls eyes look SCARY when you see him win Coach of the Year. Looks like a zombie or something.

Just a couple of things I've seen. Other than that it's great. Should keep me busy until 2005 comes out. Cheers

Perhaps George McCloud's face did not install correctly. I'll have to check the installation's source. The numbers are a little distorted, I can't make graphics patches so I won't be able to fix that myself.

Thanks for the feedback. (Y)

I installed the patch and it ran smoothly, then I enabled customart (patch already installed so no need for that ) Then go into the game load the roster, and you cant see the players faces when you click on them

Can someone please explain why this is happening to me?

Hey Andrew when are you going to do a different season? You must know the ratings of 95/96 out the top of your head by now ;)

Even though I want to do a 95/96 patch for NBA Live 2005 (which I'll start work on much earlier), I might try my hand at another season...maybe 96/97. ;)

Man, this patch is soo cool and looks incredible in-game!! Glad the wait is over. :P Props to you, Andrew! (Y)

But, there is one little thing; It doesn't really mean that much, and the patch is still great without it, but i'm just wondering why my Anthony Mason cyberface isn't included? I know it wasn't the best cyberface, but still, IMO it's better than the original EA Sports bald one. :)

Can I ask just you once more how to convert a fsh file into a viv if there are missing files.

I mean, the viv file consists of a .fsh and a number of .o files...
The files in xplayer folder (custom art files) do not always have all the files necessary to go into the viv files.

This is a huge problem for the players like AC-Green who does not have an in-built viv files inside the original xplyer.viv

No, the numbers aren't quite right. If someone with skill in that area wanted to redo the numbers for the Sonics' jersey, that would be great. (Y)

Thanks for the latest faces Pirate, awesome as always! :)

Game Action not working

Postby trsba on Wed Aug 11, 2004 3:53 pm

After I installed the 95-6 patch the game no longer seems to play..
I can view all the rosters, and see how great the graphics are on all the customart players.. I just spent that last 2 hours going through ever possible setting change that I can think off and the game loads up but when the basketball has finished booting up, it then goes back to the desktop and the program closes. It has never done this before on any other patches.. ANy help would be good.. My game is intalled in the correct directory. I have installed EA's patch countless times.. Ive tried with customart turned on and off.. What else can I try?

When you load the game, are you loading from the desktop rather than the Play option on the autorun menu?

Have you installed NBA Live 2004 to a folder other than the default?

NBA Live 2004 is installed at:
C: Program Files\Games\NBA Live 2004

does it need to be installed at its default position?

It doesn't have to be, but you will need to copy the art to the correct folder.

In your case, copy the render folder that will have been placed in C:\Program Files\EA Sports\NBA Live 2004 to C:\Program Files\Games\NBA Live 2004.

Ey, I know that I'm not the most known guy for making jersey patches 'n' stuff, but I once downloaded an Atlanta Hawks retro jersey, which had the exact same problem. I spend more than 3 hours on the problem (was so getting on my nerves, and it looks very ugly! ), and at last I figured it out... So I'm pretty sure I would be able to do the same trick with this Sonics jersey!
I might return later today, or maybe tomorrow, with an updated version. :)

But one question: Is it only the Sonics away jersey, or also the home one?

And Pirate, love these faces!! (Y)
