I wouldn't call 2GB of VRAM "Top GPU." For a desktop, you can get one for under $150.

Yeah but not all 2GB VRAM GPUs are equal. There are lots of video cards with 2GB of VRAM, it's basically the norm or even smaller than the norm now. But what's 2GB of VRAM going to do when some of the video cards have Small Memory Bus speeds, or tiny amount of CUDA/Stream Cores. At least for NVIDIA you probably need the "GTX" in the video card name to think about maxing the game.

I have a question though, when this says 2 GB under graphics memory are they talking about your total avaible graphics memory or dedicated video memory ? i have a GTX 570 card, quad core 2.66 ghz, 8 gig ram, so i think id fall into the medium catogory? but my total memory says 4095 and 1280 for dedicated memory ?

My experience tells me that if your card is one of those that are insided the recommended ones doesn't mean that you can max the game out AT ALL. There are lots of examples, but I remember that GTA IV recommended was a 512 Mb GPU, and I can't max it out or even play at continuous 60 fps with my 780 OC.

Recommended CPU requirements are ridiculously high too for a sports game.

great news if accurate but a bit confusing

minimum GPU Directx 10.1 but minimal Directx 11 o.o this doesnt makes any sense

either you need Directx 11 or not

Holy shit, they outdid themselves.
That's a HUGE span.

This basically means that at minimum the game will look kinda like 2K14 with huge amount of scaling up to the max (which will be probably graphic orgy with lot of details).

I'm seriously impressed. Leftos, please compliment the whole team for this.

@StormsWarning - The VRAM in System Requirements usually mean the dedicated VRAM embedded/attached to your actual video card. The shared memory includes your actual RAM in case the game needs more VRAM. But normal RAM is not as fast as the VRAM so it's not the same as having enough Dedicated VRAM.

@seanbarkley - I think requiring a i7 on anything except crazy FPS or crazy Open-World RPG games is a bit high. They probably choose a high requirement CPU so they don't get complaints when someone complains a "Phenom II X4 or i5" didn't have smooth gameplay even though it was recommended.

@crazy_me_87 - No need to be confused. Games can be designed to use DX10 and DX11. This is up to the developers and most games have not done this from my memory. For example Dragon Age II can be run in DX11 mode or in DX9/10 mode. Hopefully allowing DX10 did not hold back the game from being even better on DX11

GTA IV is a REALLY BAD EXAMPLE when talking PC benchmarks. That's one of the worst porting jobs in recent history lol.

i do know that games can be developed that way but the minimal req. reads:

Graphics: DirectX 10.1 compatible (512 MB) or better
DirectX: Version 11

thats the point i dont get

if you need at least Directx11 then a Directx 10.1 card cant be enough or can it?

Well, hope, recommended reqs (taking into account the minimum requirements) just needed for not very important things such as newest anti-aliasing types, tessellation etc.

Nice. I expect to run at Medium then? (Medium is usually console quality).

i3-3220 @ 3.3 ghz, 2 gb 7850 XFX Radeon AMD Card

if so, which i assume so, then I'm happy.

Also, if anyone could help me sell the i3 (how to package it and where to sell it, I'm really bad at this) that would be greatly appreciated. I wanted to sell it for like $95 someplace. And then on black friday go down to microcenter and buy their annual $200 i7-4770k $199 deal.

True, here you have some other examples of recommended settings and how my I7 3770K + GTX 780 OC deal with them:

Far Cry 3: recommended 1024 Mb GPU -> I run it 50-75 fps.

The Witcher 2 recommended Geforce 260 1mb -> I run it at 45 fps average.

Metro LL recommended GTX 660 ti -> average 45-50.

Seeing this and the recommended GPU for 2k15 we'll see what combination can run the game maxed out at continuous 60 fps.

As I see minimum specs on Steam...
OS: Win 8.1 64bit, so no problem (wait, minimum Win 7? No Vista anymore? :D)
Processor: Intel Core i5-3210M (yeah, laptop) - should be good?
Memory: 6GB - should be enough for a while...
Graphics: Good question. I hope my 630M with 1GB will be enough...
DirectX - well, I'll skip that.
Hard Drive: Funny part - 50+ GB needed - Titanfall anyone? :D Anyway, IMO that's quite correct, because, you know, Next-Gen (or Current-Gen, doesn't matter how you call it).
Sound-card: you must be joking...
Additional notes: Gamepad w/ dual analogs FTW! Guess I'll just need to buy a new gamepad, the one I have is quite broken...

My result: Should be okay for me. OMG, why so much games are released in October? (COD:AW, NBA 2K15, F1 2014) I won't know what to play...
Praise 2K for optimized game (looks like)! :applaud:
Proud to be an user of this forum.

@crazy_me_87 DirectX is backwards compatible. The game will need DirectX 11 installed to be able to communicate with your PC the way it was designed. But if you have a DirectX 10.1 video card it will not be able to use the extra features and functionality as a DirectX 11 video card could.

Direct3D 11 is basically Direct3D 10.1 with more features and functionality.
