I see it that way... we are all very passionate about NBA 2k and our PCs...and everybody is entitled to that..it got too heated not without my doing... for that im sorry... and you are completly right... lets move on.. for my part all is forgiven and forgotten.. im the last one to hold grudges! :)

if it helps to clarify:

im running on 4gb DDR2 Ram 800MHZ

my resolution is 1280x1024

Win7 x64bit

im sorry if those where crucial points.. i didnt mention them because to me their "normal"

And by the way... I do infact have a problem with benchmarks... because its just a stat collection someone else i dont know provided.. i cant say for sure if its true and what factors played into the results...

im from Germany and a famous quote here from former Chancellor Konrad Adenauer is "Ich Vertraue Keiner Statistik, die ich nicht selbst gefälscht habe" wich means "I dont trust any statistic i didnt fake myself"

i just want to say its propably wise to take almost every statistic and such thing with a grain of salt, especcially before you basically give a fellow poster the feeling that you dont take him serious. that was my whole Problem.. i had the feeling of not beeing taken serious allthough i just tried to help others here^^

but anyways that was that^^

YES FINALLY WE CAN ALL BE NLSC BUDDIES!!!!

Thanks for the clarifications crazy_me_87. There is nothing wrong or abnormal of your RAM, OS, or Resolution. I for one still game on 1280 x 1024 on my FM2+ PC and my AM3 PC and had a AM2 Athlon X2 6400+ until the 6-Core Phenom's were released.. I will occasionally game on my 1080P TV when I play 2K13/14 with someone who comes over. Because of the lower resolution I can play on High settings in most games with my HD 7850 OC and HD 4850.

WHAT? AND I JUST HAD MADE THE POPCORN :(
Anyway. While my pc can play(vanilla)2K14 in full settings but without nsaa, anti-aliasing and all dat mumbo-jumbo, is there ANY, and I mean ANY, chance that my PC* can handle 2K15? I'm of little knowledge on the field, so I would appreciate if anyone would answer.

I'm really sorry but the chances are very slim, so tiny you have to use a microscope to see them. And I'm being an optimist here. :(
If NBA 2k15 will be a DX10 title you'll be able to launch the game. But when it comes to gameplay it will be a slideshow for you, even at lowest settings. But, hopefully, I'm mistaken and 2k15 will be the best optimized game on PC. :P

@tsiakalos13
eh..I'm not sure. It's kind of rare to see a Next-Gen port to come to PC as of right now. So it's a complete mystery how the game will run on a PC. I don't want to kill your hopes but you may be able to run the game on minimum with not ideal FPS. I don't want to get your hopes up either.

well it kinda feels "abnormal" with all the 1080p around :D

just a week ago some kid looked at me "what you game at 1280x1024, i didnt even know that existed" im getting old..

i remember 800x600 very clearly

lets get back on topic shall we?

if i would summarize all info we gathered during our discussion my most educated guess for a playable(so somewhere around medium settings) NBA2k15 would be:

At least an old but sturdy Quadcore like mine,wait!.. :D IF you play on "lower" resolutions
but a i5 or I7 from the last 2 years would mean more safety

4gb Ram better 6 or even better 8gb

a GPU at least on par with Ps4 so Radeon 7790 to 7850/R7 270 or a Nvidia ,750ti,660,670,760

would that be an advise you would agree with? also feel very free to add/correct it

im just trying to un-confuse this Thread and give some advise as good as we can allthough its clear that we know nothing for sure until the requierments are released

Yes I know. I began building my own PCs after 1080P was released. So all the monitors I have at home were 1024 x 768 or 1280 x 1024 resolutions. I use two 1280 x 1024 on each setup. Wish I could eyefinity with them but they are all VGA.

Like you said a Quad-Core is a safe bet for CPU. Intel's Core 2 Quad are still good CPUs for most games. It's just that they suffer in some of the newer games. The only reason I would not recommend a person to buy a Core 2 Quad now is the high price and low availability of DDR2 RAM. An AMD Dual-Core is a no no. AMD Quad-Cores CPU's will be okay, Quad-Core APU's maybe. In general I would suggest 6-Cores or more for AMD. For Intel all Quad-Core and up should be fine in most cases. If the game does not utilize more than 2-Cores (efficiently) an Intel i3 may be good enough for gaming.

I honestly would start recommending 8GB of RAM from now on for gaming, especially if they run a 64bit OS. I believe DDR4 is available to the public now. DDR3 is bound to drop in price a little right? I bought 16GB of DDR3 RAM for ~$50 a few years ago. I would have had to pay $200+ for DDR2 versions at the same time.

Now the sweet GPU. I kind of agree with you. For AMD a 7790 will probably be the cheapest GPU you'd want to buy to play at higher than minimum settings. For Nvidia the GTX 750/Ti. The general conclusion is that a Quad-Core and a GPU better than a 7790 (X1) or a GTX 750 will at least allow you to play minimum settings smoothly. Probably a bit higher. I don't want to give a strong recommendation as I could be completely wrong when the game is released.

RashbaNor wrote:But what's the point of discussions when you shouldn't argue? :cheeky:

Haha. A civil argument should be good. One without name calling or strong anger/emotions. But some people find any kind of arguments stupid. Take those comments/memes with a grain of salt (however the saying goes)

Just to help a little bit.I own Moto gp14 on pc which is a port from the ps4 and it states as recommended an i7 and a gtx780.I play it on a fx6300 and r9 270x 2gb at 60 fps with vsync on 1080p.But the game doesnt have antialiasing from factory so it might help a bit.

oh you are absolutly right i wouldnt recommend buying a Quadcore NOW.. there is much better for the money now... but if you already have one like me the CPU is no immedeate reason to panic :D

yah youre right.. its probably best to just say "go for 8gb Ram" especcially since Ram is not that expensive so an upgrade from 4 to 8 gb will cost you maybe 20-30$

yeah i think we need to make that totally clear... even though we seem like "the Knowledgeables" here, all we can do is guess

it could be more demanding but if they optimize well it could be less demanding

but nice to see we have a basic advise for people who are absolutly unsure what to buy allthough the best advise would propably be "wait with upgrading till they release the requierements" :D

thx for the hint

i just looked up the Minimum Requierements

CPU:Intel 2.4Ghz or equivalent
System memory (RAM) 2 GB
Video card (GPU) NVIDIA Geforce 450
512 MB of VRAM

cant really believe the 2gb Ram part.. not for a PS4 Port and the CPU is not really clear what they mean with "intel 2.4ghz"

but a Geforce GTX 450 is realistic to at least START some PS4 games, but anybody who reads this... have in mind its a difference if something starts or is playable..

My PC is:

AMD FX 6300 Six-Core
8GB DDR3 - 1333Mhz
nVidia GTX 550 ti 1GB GDDR5

I think my PC will probably be okay to run it at a decent resolution. I might have to upgrade my video card but I'm not going to until the requirements are published. Some games look great and run better than others that don't look so great. It just depends on the engine, assets and the code and how they are all put together. Unless your PC is really old, I would recommend people holding off on upgrading their PC's until the minimum and recommended requirements come out.

Pissing contest is a game/contest that measures one's (male) ego. For the previous argument to have been a pissing contest wouldn't the argument have to have been about comparing one another's PC Specs and how great it is compared to the other? From my memory(not strong), the argument was about one person's specs and different users agreeing or disagreeing with the specs and the "obtained/expressed" performance. The argument got out of hand but it was so that not so good recommendations weren't spread to the absolute beginners.

Haha no it was not a typo. I usually shop on Newegg for new PC components sometimes Amazon. The RAM I bought on Newegg. They're nothing fancy. Corsair XMS3 I believe. I paid ~$70 and got a $20 Rebate. They were marketed as 1333MHz but they had 1600MHz multipliers so that's what I run the RAM speed at.
