Professional Wrestling (WWE, TNA, ROH, etc)

Other video games, TV shows, movies, general chit-chat...this is an all-purpose off-topic board where you can talk about anything that doesn't have its own dedicated section.

I watched the non-TNA produced version of it.

I'm not a fan of JBL's current commentator run. I do like his stint on the booth in 2007. He goes in favor of the heel wrestler, but then goes on to praise the face if the heel wrestler gets pinned.

Also I still am a fan of JBL's promo on the second ECW One Night Stand.

He gets stuck between the kayfabe heel schtick and his real life opinions when they are positive opinions of faces. And he also repeats the same shit over and over. He obviously respects RVD and always talks about getting kicked by RVD.

What really annoys me when he tries to bring up unrelated world/current events or other sporting events unrelated to the WWE.

Yeah I guess that's the difference between his 2007 and 2012 commentary. A lot of his commentary today references a lot of things the global audience might not have an idea about.

Hell if Booker T has his Booker T bingo, JBL should have his own too. This makes me miss Matt Stryker as color commentator. He mostly favors the heels but talks about the wrestling moves as they happen.

To me, JBL has always been dead weight on commentary. I've never been a fan of his work, mainly because he adds nothing but also because his announcer character is really poorly defined. It's not clear whether he's truly a face or heel, and not in a tweener sort of way; he just flip-flops awkwardly between the two, as if he's not sure what he thinks or who he likes.

I think he was inclined as a sports color commentator at first, then began showing a lot of his favor for heels during CM Punk's SES run.

Sting posted a tweet of himself in his old The Crow facepaint. And followed it up with another tweet that's probably a debut on WWE next Monday.

Either way, there's a working relationship in place with WWE, so he may well appear on television and work some matches at some point.

dudes, like, WrestleMania 30 was just amazing. Every once in a while I watch Bryan turn on Wyatt, then the legacy or monster promo vids, then I gotta see Wyatt's entrance and crab walk thing to Cena, then I end up watching that match, then I watch Bork, then I watch DB v HHH and end with the triple threat. I gotta be near a dozen times doing this, just a fantastic atmosphere, great stories, damn good wrasslin.

I really need to get into the stuff I missed, like Rock Austin (the heel turn one) and the years after it, but fuck man, XXX was the shit. It's holding up well for me.

I picked up the WM XXX DVD, but I haven't re-watched it yet. X-Seven is definitely worth checking out, though.

X-Seven is great. XX is great too.

I agree that WrestleMania XXX is up there, and perhaps the booking since Punk left really elevated Bryan (Bryan mentioned it on Y2J's podcast).

oh, god. well at least its all pretaped....

As previously noted here on the site, Vince Russo has publicly declined to comment on PWInsider.com's story that he is still working for TNA as a creative consultant.
Therefore, it was very interesting today that I received an email from Russo, who accidentally cc'd me in, featuring instructions and advice from him to Mike Tenay and Taz on how certain segments of a TNA TV episode about to be voiced over should be handled.

That should put to rest, once and for all, any question that Russo is still involved and working for TNA.

I love how on Raw you can actually hear the moment the crowd switches from "OMG! Sting is coming!" to "oh, it's just a videogame, fuck off then."

Although really, the 2K logo at the beginning should've given that away.

The channel that airs it here hasn't bothered to air it, at least properly, in three weeks.

First week, Impact went for one minute, followed by a program called 'Filler Up', which ran for around an hour and a half (Impact is usually cut down to that length here), the description of which was basically "we've got nothing else to show, so here's some highlights of stuff". Impact was actually on the screen when I flicked over, but it obviously didn't record. The past two weeks it's been replaced by surfing for no reason with no warning, and no rescheduling. There are replays of it at various points during the week, but instead of series link picking up one of them, it just picks it up for the next Saturday airing. Hopefully they don't cancel tomorrow afternoon's airing.

Last week, I set the Monday afternoon airing to record, after noticing late Sunday that there was no listing for it on my planner, but there was an outage all day that day.
