Sixers-Pistons trade

not a big deal and i dont think this is gonna help any of the teams.

I think its a good deal for the Sixers because Williamson can average double figures off the bench easily and I'm pretty sure he would start for the Sixers at PF possibly, but if he doesn't then he can come off the bench as a 6th man and get 9-12 ppg off the bench. I don't know why the Pistons would want this deal because they already got McDyess.

This isn't a strange trade at all IMO, he's gonna be a really good addition to our bench. There's no way he starts over Kenny Thomas, with him and Skinner off the bench we've pretty much got the rebounding on lock. I like this move and I'm pretty sure our team will make the playoffs this year, Billy King made a couple of moves and made us better without getting any superstar players.

Then on their bench they have: McKie, Iggy, Korver or Brown, Williamson, Skinner.

They now have depth and that was something they lacked of. It will really help them make ap ush for the playoffs.

Ollie won't start...I don't like when people who don't know shit about basketball make lineups that won't exist. Sixers get rid of DC the bum and make sure that Pistons won't win the Championship as DC is a cancer.

This is what I think the starting lineup will look like:

C - Dalembert
PF - Kenny Thomas
SF - Glenn Robinson (Who's supposedly in way better shape)
SG - Willie Green
PG - Allen Iverson

Williamson, Iguadola, Skinner, Ollie, Salmons, Korver, Brown etc. off the bench.

Sixers fans, say what you want but I'm loving what the team is doing this offseason. Billy King's made a commitment to make this team more young and athletic and he's lived up to his statement. This offseason he's traded away Eric Snow and Derrick Coleman for Kedrick Brown, Kevin Ollie and Corliss Williamson, added Brian Skinner and Iguodala. This team can sneak up on the rest of the Atlantic and make a run for the division crown.

Starting Line-Up:

C- Dalembert, he will have a break out year this season as he will get lots of playing time.

PF- Kenny Thomas, one of the most underrated players in the league, maybe a bit overpaid but can be called upon for a double-double every night.

SF- Glenn Robinson, a big question mark but at least he's in a contract year maybe he'll step up his game.

SG- Willie Green, a steal in the 2003 draft and is a pure scorer, great at going to the basket.

PG- Allen Iverson, not much to say about AI, if he can stay healthy he'll average 27-28 PPG again.

You guys got a lot to look forward to.

Good deal for both sides. DC knows Brown and even if he doesn't play, it's a cap move. For the 76ers, they get a good 6th man and a post scorer.

That's just speculation. KT is supposed to be used in a special role this season and I don't know the roles of the BigNasty and Slowest-Release-Ever.

Wasn't DC supposed to have been traded to the Pistons when he was with the Nets back in the mid 90s? If so, the deal has finally happened.

I'm surprised to see the Pistons trade away a key reserve from their championship team, but if he's healthy Coleman isn't a bad player to be backing up the power forward and centre positions. At first I thought Elden Campbell must have been a free agent, but I've checked and he's still a Piston for now. They're certainly going to have a lot of options coming off the bench for the two Wallaces.

Good deal for the Sixers as Dalembert seems as though he's the preferred option to start at centre. A youth movement makes the aging DC expendable, while finding a replacement for McCaskill should be no trouble.

The trade isn't bad (or at least it can be twisted around to look pretty good), but as I said I'm surprised to see the Pistons make such a change to a team that is fresh off a championship season.

wtf you talking...i bet i know alot more about bball than you especially...all because i got a lineup wrong about a team that can't even make the playoffs doesn't make a difference. you really can't tell who will start until the beginning of the season anyway. on one of ur post u had iggy as a 6th man which won't happen. ill be surprised if i saw a rookie being the 6th man unless they were a top 3 pick and they would be starting most likely on a team like the sixers. if the sixers ur favorite team and u had iggy as a 6th man then u dont know shiat

I don't know who knows more bball here, but I do believe there is a good chance Iggy will be the main backcourt man off the bench for the 76ers. Him or Salmons.

About the trade, i don't think it helps both teams hugely.
Williamson aint great. Undersized power forward who's almost over the hill.
Turns out Detroit doesn't even want Coleman, they just wanted to get rid of Williamson.

It's kind of a weird situation "Nick" , right now he is underpaid and underrated. He only makes $4 Million next season but his contract is guaranteed until 2010 where he makes close to $8 Million.

Dupree was signed to replace Williamson, that was sign #1. Coleman and McCaskill won't play....they probly won' make the team.

Williamson is pretty good at the SF position and he's good to have when teams are in a scoring drought. Detroit always counted on him to come in and score off the bench and more often than not he delivered.

The trade from Detroits perspective was to pick up the 4th yr option on Prince's contract and re-sign Wallace...good move.

From Philly's perspective they got rid of Coleman and i'm sure that's good enough

i think detroit pulled the trigger on this for 2 reasons.

1. to clear a roster spot for delfino(maybe thinking wrong player here, he was drafted and just now released from overseas contract. have heard nothing but great things).

2. Brown has always liked Coleman.

now i dont know where colemans contract is but if it expires at seasons end thats a 3rd reason for you. the pistons no longer need williamson so they traded him. they still have alot of depth. infact this years pistons look better than last years. now that dont mean they will repeat, but they will definetly be a player.

they've already signed Delfino and regardless of whether Williamson was going or not Delfino would play. Yeah Colemans contract ends soon. Another good move i guess....nothing ,major but all the small things add up

Usually, underrated refers not to the $$$ the player makes, but the production and recognition he/she gets.
