Professional Wrestling (WWE, TNA, ROH, etc)

Other video games, TV shows, movies, general chit-chat...this is an all-purpose off-topic board where you can talk about anything that doesn't have its own dedicated section.

Was hoping for that too. I mean it can only be effective at first. I think gimmicks like that won't have a lasting effect. See: Damien Sandow.

Also: SETH ROLLINS HEEL TURN?!?

I liked the clever responses to the CM Punk chants last night by Heyman & Stephanie. Stephanie's seemed more pre-planned, Heyman's seemed like it was on the fly

Yeah, not sure about that one. Could be a great opportunity for him - and The Shield have such great potential as singles competitors, meaning a breakup was inevitable - so it should probably be given a chance. Writing's a bit flimsy though, so again, I'm not sure.

I was expecting Dean Ambrose to be the one who'd turn. With Rollins turning, his moveset would probably be reduced.

They both suck compared to Reigns and everyone knows Reigns is in the middle of a huge push. I didn't even know Ambrose and Rollins had finishing moves until last night and tonight. I thought all Rollins did was jump on people from tall ledges

but i guess that gives Orton a tag partner for them to continue the feud. HHH can stop wrestling and they can make more tag matches to extend the feud until DB comes back.

and wtf Zigler not in MITB (N) they are really burying him hard... to the point where they won't grant Flair's wish to work with Zigler. I don't understand why they are working so hard to see him not succeed

He's a heel who thinks he's a face ("they're not booing, they're saying "Bo!"").

I believe he started as a face on NXT, with a similar but much less over-the-top gimmick, and when the crowd turned on him they just turned the dial up to 11 and made him ridiculously obnoxious, thus turning him heel without really changing the character.

NXT is basically compulsory viewing at this point, because they're doing a terrible job of bringing people up and actually explaining who they are and why you should care. They seem to think everyone's watched NXT and will know, and therefore there's no point.

Yeah seems like NXT is basically practice for the main show but they shove people down your throat once they debut. Just a little bit of success in NXT makes the executives think that it will directly translate to the main show. Remember back when new upcoming guys were the jobbers?

Anyone they see a future for isn't going to be a jobber on the main roster. That's the way it's always been, that's the way it should be for anyone with a lot of promise and the potential to go far. Of course, it is possible to push someone too hard out of the gate, but you definitely don't go to the other extreme and have them job all the time either.

After reading the taping spoilers I skipped this set of Impact shows. It just seemed, cheap, even for them. It has gotten so bad...hopefully tomorrow night and the NYC tapings will either make the company or just end the suffering.

Damn. Not the reign many of us wanted to see after his Wrestlemania win, but that injury was just terrible luck. They were trying to buy him some time, but looks like he'll be out of action a while longer. Hope he can get back to the top once he's cleared to work again.

I think they might use the opportunity to garner heat for the authority and the winner (Orton?) so they can just drop it back to Bryan when he comes back

It's also a good second chance for the WWE to build up Bryan again to the proper way they want it instead of clusterfucking around like they did and hurrying shite up for Wrestlemania.

I just hope they get over the "B+ Player" stuff. It gets HHH and Stephanie over as heels and it helped sell the underdog vs corrupt Authority angle, but it's become tiresome and will eventually start to flat out bury Bryan, rather than garner him sympathy.

A couple of surprising names there, such as Theodore Long and Brodus Clay. I figured Clay might get repackaged again, with Long hosting live events or having a backstage role. Guess not.
