For Bogans he was a great vet bench last season, but was a no show during the PO, and he should thank Billy King and the Nets Org since they help him in all the possible ways since he was injured from Bulls.
Paul Pierce believes his new team is primed to make a run at the Eastern Conference title, although the veteran small forward has a bigger goal in mind for the Brooklyn Nets: capturing the NBA championship.
“I think we’re going to be right up there with the best of them,” Pierce said Thursday.
“Obviously I would’ve loved to have finished my career in Boston, but that day and age is finally over with. My ultimate drive is winning a championship.”

According to Barbara Barker of Newsday, Paul Pierce (who was also sent to Brooklyn in the blockbuster deal) had to spend over an hour on the phone with Garnett, convincing him to waive his no-trade clause and play for the Nets.
But it wasn't just reservations about leaving Boston that had Garnett wary of the trade. According to a separate report from Celtics reporter A. Sherrod Blakely, Garnett "absolutely" considered retirement this offseason. Garnett was likely most tempted to retire between the day that Doc Rivers was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers and day that the Celtics agreed to their deal with the Nets.
Pierce's efforts in that hour-plus phone conversation not only lured Garnett out of Boston, but also may have lured him out of retirement. Pierce's pitch likely included the fact that the Nets would be an instant title contender if the trade goes through, as well as the fact that Garnett would have two former teammates - Pierce and Jason Terry - to ease himself into a new situation.

Paul Pierce traded. Reason: Boston is rebuilding. Result: He got fucking traded.

I'm saying the sacrifice talk with Ray Allen doesn't apply to Paul Pierce being traded and getting 'more money' since Pierce didn't exactly have a say in it and buying out Paul Pierce isn't the Celtics first choice, it was to trade him to get assets.
shadowgrin wrote:The Celtics have been upfront with Ray Allen about the attempts to trade him that's why he knew.
Ignoring the Rondo situation since that's a given, was Ray Allen upfront about leaving the Celtics?
Saying you don't want to do this and then doing exactly that is lying, plain and simple.
It's not that hard to understand why people think Ray Allen is a scumbag. And he is.

NovU wrote:And that's exactly the issue I am noting on. It's silly how people can be absurdly judgmental as if players existence/decision solely should depend on team's wish.

It may not be a horrible lie or it may be a white lie but it's still a lie.
And since he's a known public figure that lie will be magnified.
Bottom line Ray Allen lied.
On the day the trade becomes official, the Celtics issued a message to departed superstars Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett on both the team’s social media accounts and in an ad in The Boston Globe.
“To two of the greatest Celtics legends of all-time: Thank you. You will always be Celtics.”
Apparently, they forgot: “FOR THREE FIRST-ROUND PICKS,” since it was the team’s decision to trade them.
