first casey anthony, now this. florida's citizens are out of their minds
"What we witnessed today was White Supremacy reminding us who is in charge. If they say black bodies are inherently criminal and threatening, then black bodies are inherently criminal and threatening. If they say it’s reasonable to fear black people, then it’s reasonable to fear black people. If they say it’s well within their rights to stop, frisk, question, and kill black people they deem “suspicious," who make “furtive" movements, then call the coroner and start slow singing and flower bringing.
They told us who they are. It’s time we believe them"

http://www.miamiherald.com/2013/07/13/v ... legal.html SANFORD -- After five weeks of trial and 56 witnesses, few legal observers believed prosecutors came close to proving Sanford neighborhood watchman George Zimmerman committed second-degree murder when he shot and killed Trayvon Martin in February 2012.
So for many legal analysts, it was no surprise that jurors rejected even a lesser “compromise” verdict of manslaughter, acquitting Zimmerman outright of all criminal charges and deciding he acted in a reasonable way to protect his own life.

Can't say I'm surprised either, fucking Floridians...

The prosecution had no case. They knew they had no case.
It's pretty insane how much national coverage this local non-story received. (Or maybe we should call it a "local crime story" like Gosnell, right WaPo?)
If they say it’s well within their rights to stop, frisk, question, and kill black people they deem “suspicious," who make “furtive" movements
What does this case have to do with the NYPD?

Did Zimmerman have a gun permit?
Tue Jul 16, 2013 3:21 am
What I don't understand is how the prosecution couldn't find any of the millions of Twitter users who apparently witnessed the entire incident.
Tue Jul 16, 2013 3:47 am
Because those 'millions' of people didn't witness the entire incident completely.
They probably started tweeting when they saw the two struggling already or when they heard the gun shot which is too late at that point to even determine who caused what that led to the shooting.

I was talking about the ones expressing outrage at the verdict, not anyone who may have been on Twitter at the time of the original incident.

Twitter responses are like the last resort. The guy should have been put away very easily if it was meant to be.
