E3 2013: Day 1 Discussion Thread

What a day, man, what a day. Day 0 was full of exciting announcements, and a unanimous decision made across the world. Forza 5's Driveatar, Madden 25, The Decision, The Crew, and Sony winning the console war before it has even begun. NBA Live 14 had Kyrie Irving to showcase BounceTek and EP Sean O' Brien to showcase CourtQ. NBA 2K14 went all uncanny valley as it showcased pre-alpha gameplay footage and a talking virtual LeBron. After all was said and done, the NLSC staff gathered to discuss Day 0 in the first epsode of the E3 2013 NLSC Podcast series.

And slowly, as the doors open in 4 and a half hours from now (12PM PDT/7PM GMT) in Los Angeles, E3 attendees will be able to visit the booths of console-makers, publishers and developers and get extended views and even some hands-on with game demos, a lot of which were announced during yesterday's Press Conferences. EA has a booth at E3, while 2K is doing a 3-hour live-stream from E3 today, hinting at more information coming our way.

So, what are you most excited for today? Which game would you like to see an extended demo/gameplay video show up today? Which developer's booth would you hang around if you were there? As announcements happen, news break and game demos are revealed, we'll be around to discuss Day 1 of E3 with you.

so the funny thing about E3 so far is the game i most want is for a system i will never buy no matter what. i want the new zelda game. a link to the past is one of my favorite games of all time and the new one looks so much fun but its for such a stupid ass "system" that i will never get to play it. damn you nintendo for having to make all your shit weird. at this point i would love to see nintendo do what sega did and just make games cause nintendo has some franchises i really enjoy

Posted this in another thread but it's awesome enough that I'll put it here too and hopefully sell some of you on the game.

Am particularly interested in NBA Live 14, NBA 2K14, Arkham Origins, Dragon Age III and Watch Dogs. Also as benji mentioned, it's kinda embarrassing to see AC4 lock-up in their presentation.

Yeah. It was. Pretty much the same reason Microsoft's Kinect presentation in the reveal must've been pre-recorded. Things like that in a major event can only do harm.

I think I saw the demo guy bow his head in embarrassment after the second lock-up.

Same. I don't think I can ever buy into Wii U stuff. But I would love to play some Mario/Zelda. Miss em.

I know what you mean. The last Zelda game that I played was Majora's Mask, which I still think holds up as a great game (just as Ocarina of Time does) but it is going back a few generations now.

Watch Dogs did catch my eye during Sony's press conference, though.
