Dang you beat me to the punch. Big bargain considering the stupid deals this offseason. The Bowen for 3 million a year is a good deal as well.

The Spurs are making some nice moves. Barry is capable of playing both backcourt spots, and at that price he's almost a steal, considering some of the other deals that are being signed or are on the table.

hehe im already placing my bets on the spurs even tho I don't like them to win it all next year. There line up i slooking pretty good right. A Shaq to Dallas or Sacramento might change my thoughts though.

Forgot about Jax?
What about Stephen Jackson?
I knoe B.Barry is great, but he's older, and he's injury prone, the Nuggets better get Jackson.

Whoever gets Jackson will be pretty well off.

I'm guessing they didnt sign Jackson since they have Brown doing Jackson's job. Backup swingman.

In Barry they have someone who can back up Parker.
If they got Jackson, they would basically have to choose between Brown (who's shown some nice stuff) or Jackson.

Barry was a good choice. (Y)

Spurs looking mighty strong to re-gain that title.

*shrug* I can't help feeling bad for KG. :(

I'm guessing Barry will start at the two, at least for a while. He'll split time with Ginobli regardless, but Ginobli will still probably be the spark off the bench next year. It's what I'd do...but what do I know? :D

Meh, I would give Ginobili the nod to start. He's truely the argintinian version of Bryant.

My Spurs line up would look like this:

C- Nesterovic
F- Duncan
F- Bowen
G- Ginobili
G- Parker

With Barry coming off the bench. (Y)

It could go both ways though... :)

Barry gives the Spurs another 3 point threat as well. That has always been a key to the Spurs success as Duncan will see a lot of doubles in the post.

I know another team that used to use the same formula, surround the big man with three point shooters & a consistant 15-25 point player.

Aah well, guess we're like the bulls fans now, reminising about the past.

Devin Brown and Barry off the bench wouldn't be bad, they could be like how Ginobili is off the bench.
They could be the spark.

Does Brown have a contract or is he a FA this season? If he is, I hope they re-sign him.

SJax definitely was another option they were looking at, but they went for Barry because he's cheaper and is more versatile (can play 1 as well).

I wonder what happened to Malik Rose? He used to be pretty good...

He just moved further and further down the bench with the signing of Robert Horry.

Willis even got to play more than Rose.

I don't understand why though, he's undersized for his posititon but he executed well whenever he was in the game. He's got heart, but Pop just played other before him. He ended up getting trash time. :?
