Skip,oh, I mean Rafer Alston signed a deal wit Toronto. He should stay in Miami.I know he would back up DW,but they coulda been a good duo.I see him scorin 15 pts,6 assts a game.Hit about 2 3's per game. Finally show us that And 1 people can make a difference in the NBA.

Excellent move, now Toronto has a good bench too, with Alvin Williams, Mo Pete, Moiso, and Rafer Alston.

C - Baby
PF - Bosh
SF - Marshall
SG - Carter
PG - Rose

(Y) loved the move

i think he took the deal cos it's 6 yrs, and Miami wanted to give him half the MLE which i thought was an insult to Alston

Didn't watch the Raptors too much, Bosh is not a center and just gets killed at center, the point of drafting Araujo was to move him to PF.

Peterson is annoying and all he does is jack up three's from the corner. Also Rose is not a good PG, not that he can't play it but he's a defensive liablility, makes bad decisions, and gets stupid turnovers a lot.

Like I said:
PG - Alston
SG - Rose
SF - Carter
PF - Bosh
C - Araujo
6th Man: Donyell
7th Man: MoPete

only giving offered him half the midlevel exception.
thats not nice, at least offer it all, he had abreakout year and he knew it.
time to get the cash, which for him is at least midlevel exception since he can hit 3s too while your stock is high before your stock drops.

well raptors need help to reach the playoffs before they can worry about doing good in the playoffs
they could also be trying to show Vince Carter that they are trying to get a good team going here and move in the right direction. This isn't a terrible move by them in my opinion.

Carter and Rafer weren't really on good terms though, when Rafer was here before, he openly came out and challenged Carter's heart in the locker room.

I like Marshall at the 3, his best years were at Utah playing alongside Malone.

I like Alston as an energy guy behind Rose (at first thought), a kinda 6th man like he did in Miami... Plus, there's no way Marshall goes to the bench IMO, Rose neither.

Cool, but Toronto came up with more $$$ and more years on the contract... More stability for Rafer

Good signing, although it is a lot of money. But hey, the demand is getting so high FA's are signing for ridiculous deals, so if you look at it with another prespective, it was a steal. Skip has been in Toronto, although last time around, I believe he questioned Vince's heart...hopefully they'll get along this time.

The lineup is really in question but the starting 4 and 5 is either:
C - Bosh/Araujo/Moiso
PF - Marshall/Bosh/Sow

or

C - Araujo/Moiso
PF - Bosh/Marshall/Sow
(with Marshall playing a lot of backup 3 as well). The 1,2,3 gets really tricky. Alvin could start at point, Rafer could start, heck even Rose could start. If Rose starts at the point, chances are the Raptors will super-size it and start Marshall at the 3...giving them a 6'8", 6'6", 6'9", 6'11", and 6'11" starting lineup! I doubt this however, as they'd have defensive headaches against teams like the Bucks, 76ers, and Hornets. I personally think Rafer will start with Vince, Rose, Marshall, and Bosh, but Araujo or Moiso will come in quickly to relieve Bosh from having to guard the real centers (Big Z, Curry, big physical centers, etc).

Yes, but Sam Mitchell, Rob Babcock, and most Raptor fans don't, so poor Marshall isn't playing the 3.

Also it's not just about Marshall at the 3, it's also that it makes Rose play the 1 which is horrible.

the only big man that could play the 1 is Magic of course.why did he get to play point anyways.that tells you that someobyd is gonna get traded (likely vince).

how many 30 milllion players are ridin the bench?
(i wouldnt be surprised if more than 10)

Marshall's only making 4.5 million this year

He's not an expensive guy, and soon you'll see Eddie Jones and Brian Grant sitting on the bench.

Miami needs size. Benching Grant would be the worse thing they have done. I expect Jones to be benched more than Brian.
