Postby Fresh8 on Wed Jun 30, 2004 9:57 pm

Which players will be coming bak from injury and how will they do?

Grant Hill and Jay Willams (?) may both be back but how will they contribute?

I assume that Jay Williams can come back in the NBA, like Dermarr Johnson, who had the similar problem did. Jay Williams has a blog on nba.com and it looks like he is really determined to work hard to come back in NBA, provided he's given a chance by a team as he's been cut by the Bulls.

oh i didn't know that johnson's injury was similar's to williams fractured pelvis, torn knee ligaments & nerve damage in his left leg. johnson must have a hell of a rehab program seeing how he was already lacing it up last year. what's williams doing now- learning how to run again?

J-Will - Towel Boy
Grant Hill - Senior Towel Advisor

In 5 years time...

Dwight Howard - Towel Apprentice

Orlando are going to have the most athletic towel department in the history of the NBA.

I hope Williams comes back, just because I liked him... Hill on the other hand, should just come back, average 2ppg or so and come play in the NBL. Preferably for Adelaide, because I'm moving there and I'd like to see someone NBA quality playing who isnt named Acie or Luc *shudders*

i wish he comes back.PGs and Cs are always welcome in NBA i think.

Unfortunately, if Jay Williams came back right now at his current condition and played C he would be in the top 20 in the league. It's a sad sad reality.

Anyone else want to see a 6'1 C in the NBA? I actually do :?

A bit off topic...but I had a dream where Hill was traded for Milicic and Milicic broke his ankles...and got injured real bad in his first game and sat out the next two seasons while Grant Hill went on to lead the league in scoring! Tell me i was dreaming!

You were dreaming. ;)

I dunno Mikki, i don't think Grant is completely dead. He's going to attempt to come back next year. And i think he will still be a very solid player.

If Hill comes back strong ... I can see him averaging 15 points, 6 boards, and 5 assists per game. But that's if he doesnt get injured again.

I agree. If Hill can make a comeback and play most of the season (let's say 70 or more games), I would also predict 15, 6 and 5.

I believe both the Bulls and Jay Williams expressed a desire for him to remain in Chicago should he be able to play again. If he does remain a Bull though, I don't see him walking straight back into the starting lineup. With the injuries he suffered, I'd be very surprised if he returned and became the player he was expected to be.

I don't believe Hill will make it back for 30 games. I don't think, unfortunately, Jay Will will play again. One guy who is coming back (actually already did) is DeMarr Johnson, I believe #9 overall a few years ago to the Hawks (correct me if I'm wrong). He showed some promise last season with the Knicks and I hear he's even better now.

Well he's a freak athletically. He was and still is very raw especially with the fundamentals (dribbling, passing) and intagibles (court awareness, vision). His shooting is off and on, but if he's near 100% (honestly, with a neck injury like that I doubt he'll ever be 100%), he can turn real good. What really matters is his determination and motivation to work at it...just like all the teenagers in the NBA these days.

, as for Grant ...he's DEAD

Remember Bill Walton? A Mega Contract to spend six years in the sidelines with the Clippers, being released afterwards.
Came back to be the sixth man in a limited but fundamental role with the 1986 Celtics, and won a title and the &th man trophy

. I hope Grant Hill keeps his head high, because this his what I expect from him.
Come Back.
Be effective (sometimes sensational), in limited PT.

i like what the Magic have done, they get rid of a talented, but whiny bitch and instead got Francis who should thrive in the East....small ball and fast breaks for him and not many big guys in the middle to drive at. Hill could play a key role on this Magic team....maybe as a 6th man...I wish him well

One comeback I'm eager to see is Kwame Brown....although he's not actually coming back from anything except bad play. He had string of good games last season and hopefully he can 'come back' to that form

Kwame needs to actually play! God damn him...he needs to dominate!

Oh yeah...read an article where Alonzo's agent hinted at a possible return in the furture by his client...but it's an extremely slimchance obviously!

It'd be great to see Zo return and finish his career on his terms. After all, Sean Elliott managed a brief return after undergoing a kidney transplant, but I too think there's a very slim chance of that happening.

Grant Hill is done. He's made 3 "comebacks" and all have ended in less then a week. Grant Hill has played 14 games in 4 seasons with the magic. Zaza Pachulia played more, and he CAN'T play to save his life. What makes this comeback different? It'll give the 'gic some closure. After this one fails, he'll be done. No more embarrasment for the Magic, please. Since Shaq and Penny left, its been nothing but. This season we will have an excuse to suck. Rookies.
