Jamison traded to Washington for #5!

Just saw it on ESPN News. I honestly think this is a great move by Washington. The draft is quite low in talent that are ready to play in the NBA. They have very high in potential though but the Wizards don't need to keep on getting young players. They have plenty.

Dallas definitely is trying to use the pick to get Shaq.

What a great trade for the Wizards, they have a solid foundation with Gilbert Arenas, Kwame Brown and now Jamison. If only Stackhouse can stop hogging the ball so much and if they're able to stay healthy, they'll be a lock for the playoffs.

i dont know about that, ive heard that the lakers wont take the offer unless dirk is included..and as a lakers fan i can tell you im "less than excited" about getting walker he's a cancer

Not really. Laettner and Stackhouse were cancer. Washington was glad to get rid of them.

I've been saying trade Stack and waive Laettner since the off-season started, and finally it's done.

Laettner is not a good player, he was jsut a bad influence on the young guys.

Stack was said to have gotten back to even better than All-Star form/shape after the season, and he's not bad but still a low percentage shooter that always needs the ball.

On BDSS, Arenas and Stack were just there and Arenas was saying how Stack in not a cancer at all and he'd like to give him another chance, guess not

I think he should have been starting for that team! He was the best player in Dallas (besides Dirk maybe)!

Jarvis Hayes is too small at the 3, that was one of the reasons I waned to keep the 5th pick and get Iguodala or Deng is possible.

Jamison isn't a PF, he can play it but he's more of a defensive liability at the 4 because he doesn't block shots either, he doesn't have amazing atleticism, and he's not big enough to bang down low, he's 6'9 about 225 lbs, which isn't PF material.

C - Haywood
PF -Brown
SF - Jamison
SG - Hughes
PG - Arenas

Arenas can be a good defender, Hughes tries but he's not extremely quick, and he's very small, 180 something pounds, Jamison is a weak defender, and it's good to have Haywood in the lineup because at least we'll ahve a shot blocker inside.

Good deal for the Wizards. They may have had to give up a lot for one player, but they can afford to lose Stack and Laettner if they're getting Jamison in return. So-so deal for the Mavericks, but if it leads to getting Shaq I guess it doesn't really matter that they're taking on Laettner and Stack.

good deal for dallas too. stack will basically give them what jamison did off the bench in terms of point productions with more ball handling, laettner isnt really that bad and has some size with alright skills that can flourish with so many great scorers in dallas surrounding him, and the#5 would be a good replacement for nash if nash decides to leave or they can develop it.

good deal for wizards because i cant see arenas, hughes and stack sharing the ball. Jamison is not the type of player that can turn a franchise around though.

to me dallas comes out on top only because jamison was basically expendable and they got some talent that can probably easily replace him back along with a good prospect, meaning there is potential for a real steal and even if that doesnt happen stack and laettner are starters on most teams coming off the bench.

Stack doesn't give them what Jamison did, Jamison gave them 53.5% shooting, Stack will give them inability to hit open shots, low percentage shooting, needing the ball in his hands which won't work with all the other players, and turnovers.

yeah, jamison is better, but its not like dallas exactly sucked without him. Besides stack wont have the teams best defender on him anymore, and im guessing his shot percentage will go up coming off the bench. I personally like jamison much more than stack, but he wasnt exactly instrumental to dallas because they'll still be scoring 100+ without him, and Harris really gives them security, and if not that in his first year, at least promise at the point. Jamison vs stack is a definite wiz advantage, but i think harris shifts the advantage to dallas.

If you can give up somebody with fairly good talent and get both above average ready-to-play talent and potential talent i say take it, especially if you know the loss of that player will not dramatically change the strategy or core of your team. I hope jamison the best in washington, but somewhere down the line they may regret giving up that #5 pick.

Hey, long time ! Washington did some good business here, dallas got the worst of the deal imho, after the season jamison has had, i can only look up to a player who put his ego aside, i respect that, plus didn't he keep the mavs in the series in the playoffs? I can't exactly remember but i do remember him being the team player and give an lift from the bench saved dallas from 'toine walker's hogging and misfiring .
