DRAFT CHANGE!

Postby VMS on Thu Jun 24, 2004 7:13 am

I just checked nbadraft.net, and now Emeka is in the #2 slot, and Howard #1! I think this is a mistake if the magic pick howard.

The guys at draft.net = morons.

http://www.draftcity.com/mocks/2004.htm

They would be crazy not to pick Okafor.

Well they've said if the Francis trade goes down they will likely take Howard, but that trade is crumbling, and really right now it's 50/50 between Okafor and Howard for no 1.

I would prefer to see Dwight in Charlotte and Emeka in Orlando, because it just makes practical sense!

Orlando needs some immediate help... Emeka Okafor is your man. He will change opposing teams' offense by dominating on defense and he does all the little things that a team needs to win. His offensive game isn't as bad as most people think too. He did average around 17 ppg in College after all. He's also 6'10", 1 or 2 inches bigger than people initially thought. AND he has work ethic out of this world and will continue improving and could be the next Alonzo Mourning from what i've read. The Tracy McGrady trade seems less likely. So Okafor would be a smarter pick for Orlando i reckon. It depends whether they want to win now or have a franchise player later.

Dwight would be nice for Charlotte because Charlotte can afford to wait for Dwight to reach his potential. Dwight is a franchise player coming out of high school who will get the chance to come in a get playing time right from the get-go.

It just makes practical sense!
Okafor - ORL
Howard - CHA

But you know in the end it's going to the other way around don't you.

Two profiles from drafts-gone-by make me a little skeptical about the folks at nbadraft.net:

hehe. 2 draft profiles out of the hundreds they've done. can't get them all right.

yet sam smith blows a lot of shiite out his arse on a weekly basis but his credibility seems pretty strong in this forum...

i'm not so big on that site either but before you pass judgement on that, remember last year that they had the top 10 right in last year's draft and some of the people that work for that site see the prospects in person & have connections within the nba.

Some of the other profiles haven't been too accurate either. Those are just two extreme examples.

one thing i dont get at this forum, is when people say "go lakers", or another winning/big team, everybody is like "hes a bandwagoning". my point is, if you like seeing a team play and like their way of playing, why not support them. just because you havent been a fan since 1800 that dosnt mean you dont have the rigth to support a team. their maby alot of people supporting the laker, just because they are winning and that is bandwagoning, BUT think every lakers fan is that...

No just many are, like my little brother who knows nothing about the Lakers but liked them because they won 3 championships, not because he cared about the team before, but he's only 10.
But it's those who like the team when they were winning, but when they lose no one becomes their fans anymore.

After seeing highlights of Howard vs. Okafor I would take Howard too. His mechanics are very good for someone out of high school. He doesn't look to be as good a shot blocker as Okafor, but I like the looks of his offensive game, and he's definitly not a bad defensive player.

yeah i know about people loving a team for wining, but if you lets say are a utah fan, before lakers signed malone, and now your a laker fan because they signed your fav player, whats wrong in that?
because "you guys"(not saying you are) are attacking every lakers fan, saying that they are bandwagoning, without even know why and when, they became a laker fan... thats just straigth lakerhater...

Well I don't think I've called anyone a bandwagon fan in regards to the Lakers, o talk to the rest of the people, just explaining how it is, I really don't care if people bandwagon the Lakers, as long a then don't bandwagon teams I like :P

speaking of the heat, they're gonna be mad good this year. At least i think they will. The Knicks won't get too far though. They have too many bad contracts that they need to get rid of and they desperately need better talent. unfortunately they have no cap room. with Zeke in charge, though they will slowly but surely get a lot better, cos Zeke's the MAN.

Go Pistons.
