I don't think that's realistic since I used Celtics vs Heat and Celtics vs Mavs.... Mavs leading scorer is Vince Carter along with his 4 blocks... (I'm locked at PG)

field goal percentage is unrealistic imo...

Nothing that a good slider set can't cure.

Old. They've had that too since 2K10.

Wow really? That's news to me.

A positive sign for the hardcore Association players, from a poster over at OS...
SwaggerCoach from OS wrote:Good news!

I simulated through about 8 seasons and the CPU was actually able to continue picking up/signing players..instead of letting all-stars sit in free agency.

I was actually baffled by this because the potential ratings are still terrible and the draft classes still leave much to be desired as well...every single team had at least 2 guys rated in the 90's...league was FLOODED with talent no doubt.

But the Free Agents? Best guy was 75 overall...pretty much identical to what it is now. I'm shocked! But loving it!

ALSO you can no longer sign a guy that's been cut for $0!! Nice fix!!

Team stats/team records glitches seem to be gone!

I've heard you can go at LEAST 10 years with custom draft classes no problem!

And I'm liking the Finals winner each year...doesn't seem to be quite as random.

All in all, I'm very happy! Off to make potential edits/create some custom PS3 draft classes!!!!

That is good news Nick. Obviously they've done enough under the hood to improve those things. Clearly they're not fixed, but the bandaid they've applied is better than the alternative.

I have to say, my first thoughts were like Jaos or Xs: "the demo was more fun". But I've been messing around with the sliders and right now, although I still need to adjust more, the game feels so good and realistic.

The controls are very very difficult if you ask me, but it seems like many moves are more effective now - at least to me. This has to do with the improved AI.

I played Spurs vs Mavs with me being the Mavs obviously. I tried to go hard with Dirk, giving him the ball in the right high post just where he loves it in real life.

So I tried to face up most of the time and shoot over the defender (Diaw). Problem was, Diaw tended to reach and kicked the ball out of my hands twice (dunno if he has "active hands" maybe). So I decided to post him up and get some fade-aways. Worked out twice before the Spurs began to double Dirk (finally double teams in the post!). So I had to find another way. And it is actually possible to spin out of the post away from the double team. So I spun away and now I had three options: going to the basket strong, shooting a fader or kicking it to the open man.

I really liked that. I'm also getting used to the dribble mechanics, although I lowered the ball handling slider already because it's a bit too fancy for my taste. Had this great P&R with CP3 and Blake Griffin where Griffin ended up sprinting from the three point line, getting the ball around the free throw line, one step and bam! Just like in real life.

It also seems like they have taken another step with the AI on offense. Parker was killing me vs the Spurs with his variety of floaters and mid-range shots. They get better at nailing the CPU controlled stars every year with this year being another great leap imo.

Still getting used to the pro hop button and how to use it effectively.

Also, many complain about the rebounding whilst I think it has improved a lot. Rebounders can now loose the ball while grabbing it, making the ball more "loose" and the rebounding and fighting for boards way more realistic. Hustle point sig players are very useful and you have to box them out or they will hurt you.

My first thoughts. I think this game has the potential to be the best bball sim ever. Slider and roster changes are needed though.

i withdraw everything i've said with gameplay improvements because of a MAJOR gamebreaker for sim players : everytime the cpu gets a defensive rebound they push fast transitions and fastbreaks NO MATTER WHAT.
Your AI teammates come back slower on defense while the cpu sprints up in the open floor, and even if you defend well on the rushing pg, he and the sg just go crazy to find a quick shot or basket, this results in one terrible thing : there is no chance to see the cpu slow down and run a realistic play after a defensive rebound.
I've never been more disappointed in 2k than this year, being an offline pc user is like being the antichrist nowaday.

The dunk contest is not very impressive. They should have had an option to use the old control setup or just put the starter marks for some of the dunks to make it easier.

2 games in association mode and I am loving the gameplay. Slider tweaks and user improvements on defense are needed, but it's competitive and fun against the cpu. I did come across one ai hole, but those are usually rare.

I really like that you can't pass to a player who has their back turned. I've thrown a few away in different situations.

and didn't the cpu always try to force transition and fastbreaks after a defensive rebound? how can you guys live with that

My first impression:

The menu in the association is fucked up, i dont know why the heads looks like eggs and the dimmensions of everything are wrong, really strange.

I like the gameplay, and also the players are more accurate about the things they do in real life, for example, Love is a monster rebounding.

We really need a custom roster, lot of players missing, but the important thing is the potential of the players and also some ratings. I can trade easely Barea for Valenciunas straight up, for example. Also Rubio makes a +7 in stats after the season which i never seen before in nba 2k, he has 92 in potential which usually makes a +4 or +5 in the other versions.
In association the trades are worst than in 2k12 because of the ratings, so it needs to be tweaked.

I like the bug fixes too.

I only played my career and it looks fun.

-I'm not sure if it's my logitech controller making the response delay or the game itself. For example, I accidentally click the X button at the same time, the ball handler pass the ball to me, I will quickly pass it back ot him.
-Controls are hard. I'm not used to it and I still suck at isomotion.xD
-Gameplay looks good though.xD

Will play the association later.:)

Just be ready to get back on defense after shooting like the real nba. It also doesn't hurt to bait the passing lanes because they might try a quick pass as well. Once you get back, they slow it up and run plays. I'm seeing lots of pick and rolls which is good.

My cpu teammates are getting beat off the dribble a lot and while I am controlling a big man I am out of position to rotate in time. I like the difference with the speed of changing direction between the quicker and slower players. It seems like I am just late most of the time with the block attempt.

Try 60 game speed and 60 player speed for some nice responsiveness and what looks like more athleticism. Global tendencies may have to be lowered to keep the scores realistic on 12 minute quarters, but I like playing 8-10 minute quartes, so I increase the global tendencies to get them to shoot quicker. I feel it improves the AI a bit, too, maybe too much sometimes as players will make the pass to the open player who is more likely to take the open shot with the raised tendencies, but with the speed up and some increases to help defense(which help cause the pass outs), you can recover and end up with some good inside out game and defensive rotation that makes the game challenging as well as more fun, imo.

I haven't played this yet but want to. I want to know did they get it where Dwight Howard is on the Lakers? Or is he still in Orlando because of the roster cut off date of the game?

If you ask me it depends on the slider settings. I did not see every team running the break and also you have to defend properly - which means - get back on D and just cut off the break.

the point is that only the player you control can get back on defense, the ai teammates run back like zombies. and if you manage to catch back on d, the cpu doesn't stop and run a play, they just force attacking no matter what, as if they are told that in this play there is no other option than forcing

The celebrity team has a higher team rating than the 72 win, championship Bulls team. How is a team with Justin Bieber and Snoop Dogg rated 99 across the board?

Clearly they didn't take the ratings for that bonus team too seriously and took a lot of liberties.
