wow, Chauncey MVP. 2 years ago it would have looked like one of those trophy won on NBA Live thanks to the bugs in the game code..

Now it's for real, and deserved. The world never stops to surprise me

from a personal standpoint, i was hoping the last nba game i got to see of the 03-04 season would be much more competitive then this game turned out...

congrats to the Pistons, their fans, and Mo-town!

SWEET!!!

Postby corranjedi on Wed Jun 16, 2004 3:07 pm

I love it!!! Pistons sweep the Lakers (well, sorta), and they take them out in the last game. I'm just wonderin if all those people who were saying the Pistons had no chance are having fun eating their words right now. And another thing, how many people think Joe Dumars is stupid for passing up on Carmelo Anthony now??? I truly think if the Pistons would've taken Carmelo, they may not have been where they are now. Problem is, with a player like Carmelo, and his huge ego and all that, he would have been what Kobe was to Lakers. A good player who can score lots of points, but ends becoming a liability because his ego makes him think he can do more then he can. I also remember reading somewhere about Detroit not doing so well in the draft the past few years, saying the Tayshaun Prince was a bad pick. Hmm... doesn't seem like such a bad pick now, huh?

its just great. i really wanted Coach Brown to get that ring. the best thing about those series is that it wasnt even that close, it was kinda onesided and thats good to see since everybody expected the best team from the west to blowout the eastern conference champ.

Wat can I say?

Congratulations to the Pistons. They showed LA how to play basketball.

Poor Payton/Malone...those two wanted the ring real bad but couldn't earn it in the end. I hope Malone stays. Stuff Payton cause he's 5 (?) years younger and has 1,2 seasons left in him even though if Malone stays in LA...I'm not sure if we will be a contender next season.

And is this the end of the Lakers 4-5 year dynasty...maybe!

Go LAKERS!

yep.... I feel this is the end of the lakers dynasty.. Im suprised that it ended this way (going down in flames actually) Detroit dismantlled the lakers as such that they have proved that chemistry is indeed more important than just having great players. what use are great players if they keep fighting amongst themselves (kobe vs shaq, payton vs jackson and shaq vs everyone else).... I feel sad for malone but not for payton. Im a spurs fan by heart though so please dont be surprised that detroit was my number two team :D

as long as Shaq and Kobe are around the Lakers are contenders....but lakers need to add pieces around them....they need a guy that can get to the hole and not spot up shooters

Anyways, Lakers got beat by a TEAM. A team with Depth and determination......Pacers, Sixers and Nets did not have that. Detroit had the tools and the coach who refused to throw bodies at Shaq, rarely double teaming. They had somebody that could frustrate Kobe into bad shooting......look at R Jefferson, he had few troubles with Prince. Why? he took it to the hole, he didn't settle for many jump shots he was constantly looking to go to the bucket.....

Teams win Bball...it was 5 vs 2

Congratulations on the Detroit Pistons, they just didnt allow anything for the Lakers to keep it going, and were so close at sweaping them, Im very ashamed as a huge Lakers fan, but Detroit just was the better team...period. Billups, congratulations on winning the MVP, after having a hard career and going from team to team.

First congrats to the Pistons they really surprised me (and others). I didn't get to see the game but it looks they dominated again. Best teams win...

Im not a Laker fan but i hope they will have a competitive team next year and in the years to come even thogh they lost. To me they're a historic team such as boston and chicago...and it's always nice seeing a good roster on those teams.

The Lakers dynasty is still 100000x better then the Pistons one, ohno...they dont have a dynasty. Calling them suckers? 3 rings > 1 ring...period

Though I haven't seeen a single game from this season I have to say that I'm happy that Pistons win, they showed Lakers that a good team is better than a bunch of good players.
I feel sorry for Malone on Payton though :(
Oh well, Congrats Pistons!

I dont remember me saying that you said that the Pistons dynasty is better then the Lakers one, Im just saying that the Lakers dynasty owns the Pistons history. Also, dont tell me how to learn English, first learn the grammar yourself because it doesnt look good in your posts before telling others to learn the language. Thats all
----

ALso, I cant believe that Darko has won more rings then Gary Payton & Karl Malone combined. Take THAT LeBron, Darko is the real rookie of the year

Enough with that TEAM crap.
Whatever, we've won 3 rings without a team, you guys only one.
Oh yea, Bulls 6 with Jordan.
So TEAMS suck I guess.
Great thinking.

We'll see how the Pistons will become when success gets into their heads.
Pistons are a team of former failures.

Ben Wallace- undrafted. nuff said.
Chauncey Billups - man he was thrown around teams like hell and never too successful in other teams.
Tayshuan Prince - Whatever monkey
Rasheed Wallace - Great player in the past but later on tossed because of attitude.
Rip Hamilton - um...the Wizards?

so they haven't tasted success. They'll all change, for sure.
