Whoa, hold it. I like Lin but let's not get ahead too much of ourselves now and say he's similar to the best PG in the NBA.

the legend grows...

NYK's upcoming sched has a bunch of patsies.

LIn's true test is Carmelo Anthony. How much does Lin change his game when he comes back? Will he be less aggressive and defer to Carmelo? Amare should benefit from a PG who can run pick n roll and get him the ball when he's in motion. Maybe Mr pringles will consider running P n R with Carmelo??

PER: 28.7
W/S48: .281
Games Played: 13
USG%: 30.4
ORTG: 117
DRTG: 101
AST%: 49.7

This guy is the MVP contending material given his advanced stats so far. Do I think he can keep this up for the rest of season? No, the teams will adjust to him and his weakness will be exposed as more studies on him are done. But he's no fluke and he probably can still play at high level, perhaps say maintaining around .200 W/S48. Which should be far superior than most average NBA players and deserving All Star spot in many cases.

So who wants Jeremy Lin on your Fantasy team(unofficial NLSC league)? I would love to sell him high. Bring your offer.

I always thought that people past the age of 25 should have learned to stop typing in 'text speak' style when typing on a PC with a whole damn physical keyboard at their disposal unless they be mistaken for mental retardation.

But that's just my opinion.

This is more shocking...( http://www.82games.com/1112/11NYK3.HTM#pstats )

(shots) assisted: 0%

He (almost) creates all of his own shots. Which is a great thing for a high usage and effective player. (Even though he's terrible when it comes to scoring inside). Hmmm...might have to see closely if he's a decent off the ball player...

Not too shocking to me. His AST% is nearly 50% and the team is winning. 0% assisted seem to suggest that there weren't any other ball handler on the floor with him and it's something that the Knicks were suffering from, having no legit ball handler.

Of course, he was not going to get picked. I meant, if he only had this explosive games a week earlier... :P

Melo should rest his injuries for the remainder of the season. It's working well for the Knicks.

I hope Lin DOESN'T change his game! Carmelo has to buy into this ball-moving offense. Just get to his favorite spot, and Lin will find him. Like I said earlier, Pringles has to man up, get in Carmelo's face, and tell him it's about TEAM.

z02 - The Knicks aren't beating the NBA's cream of the crop(Miami, Chicago, OKC) without Carmelo doing his thing within the team concept.

Nah. Melo is essential for them to make a run in the playoffs.

I think someone might have mentioned this already, but Flip Murray had a similar stretch of games for the Sonics one year when Ray Allen got injured. We thought we might have had an all-star but it turned out it was just Flip Murray. I think he plays for the free agents now.

Not that I'm saying that'll happen to Lin. He's a marketable player, so we could be seeing superstar calls for him soon.

That's a fair call, though Murray wasn't completely devoid of talent and Lin certainly isn't either. I'd say it's unreasonable to expect him to keep posting amazing numbers each and every game, but right now it's looking like he has a promising future in the league. I'd say he's earned his opportunity and while it's working out well, I say keep riding it.

Good point.
Excluding Nash, D'Antoni's SSOL Suns had good ball handlers like Joe Johnson, Barbosa, Grant Hill, and even Diaw. The Knicks have the corpse of Mike Bibby and the highest paid IR player in the league. Makes you wonder if the Knicks can survive the playoffs with mostly scorers on the team.

Knicks vs. raptors, what a game! Like the previous game vs. the wolves, the raptors owned the knicks throughout the game, until lin nailed the game winning 3pt shot with 0.5sec left.

Lin's 8 turnovers was subpar, but that won't matter as long as the knicks keep winning. As for the raptors, playing well for 47min 59.5sec obviously wasn't good enough.

I could say that the future will look great with Lin but ... trades of the last couple of years haven't turned out well for the Knicks. The Knicks will trade Lin for some old, overpaid star player who won't come up to the expections...and will be another old or often injured waste of money...whereas Lin will flourish on another team. :(

What do you think the shot distribution should be when Anthony returns to the lineup???

Haven't checked it myself but the Knicks may not be able to afford Lin when he becomes a FA. So enjoy him while you can Knicks fans.

Even if the Knicks can afford to sign him the bench would probably be really really weak.
