But the fact of the matter is that he's not playing particularly well and it's highly unlikely a team looking to start over after trading its star wants to pay Metta World Peace his contract for two more years after this one. If the Lakers wanted to put together a deal that the Magic are actually likely to accept and take on Turkoglu's contract in return, they'd have to include Gasol. Sure, it's possible to put together a scenario where they don't have to give up Gasol, but right now I doubt Orlando takes the deal.

Apparently the Lakers have just cut Derrick Caracter, so count him out of any trade scenarios.
