Makes me think how painful it was for the Grizzlies to leave Vancouver

This is like the third time they've changed their logo, am I correct?

First it was the Grizzlie's hand gripping the ball. (See NBA Live 2000)

Then they went to the full Grizzly and now it's just the head. Why did they change so many times?

I also want to see what their jersey's look like, I just hope they don't get worse a la Orlando and I also hope they don't resemble any other teams' jerseys.

well first of all, there are no grizzlies in memphis. They named the team the "grizzlies" because there is an abundance of grizzlies in vancouver. Same thing with the Utah Jazz. Jazz music is not popular in Utah. New Orleans is the home of Jazz music. So I think both Utah and Memphis need to change the names of their basketball team.

The logo looks funny. The bear looks kind of cuddly instead of intimidating (as it should be perhaps)? The colors look kind of odd too.

LA isn't exactly filled with lakes either but I doubt that's going to make the Lakers change their name. The Jazz owner said he wouldn't give up the team name because of the history attached with it since Utah achieved most of its success as the Jazz.

I like thinking about history when it comes to sport so im not really for teams to change logos like that (all about business and money btw...).

I personally like their old logo but they changed it anyways. It's nice and plain which is key to a good logo if you ask me.

It will be interesting to see what their jerseys will look like. :twisted:

There is a possibility that osme team will get new uniforms because Nike´s partnership with the NBA will end next year, that means that the only swoosh logo we are going to see is on the players feet.

Teams that are currently under Nike:

Boston Celtics
Chicago Bulls (will get new away jerseys, the same as the sunday jersey...dunno about the home)
Dallas Mavericks (P. Diddy will design their sunday jersey next year
Detroit Pistons
Los Angeles Lakers
Miami Heat
Portland Trailblazers
San Antonio Spurs
Toronto Raptors
Washington Wizards.

There is a chance some of these teams will get new uniforms designed by Reebok, but I think most of them, if not all of them will go on like they were

Why dont we change Utah to Utah Mormons.. I'm sure they (Mormons) want their own b/ball team!

and because the White House is in Washington...doesnt mean they can be the Washington White House??? Thats stupid...as is whoever pointed out Grizzlies doesnt fit with Memphis...

they started with the full bear gripping ball logo.... since the vancouver days :cry:

then when they first moved... they were using this

After awhile this appeared

... but i think this logo was used simutaneously with the full bear....

A new logo most probably means new jersey's...the logo should match the jersey's, as you can see, this logo doesn't go too well with the old jersey's.

the logo will the par grippin the ball is just a secondary logo. they really didnt use that logo during games or anything.

as for the new logo its aight IMO. if u picked any color to put on the logo it would be blue because we got the mississippi river and the dark blue looks like the midnight blue in memphis. its also the same colors as the tennesse titans :lol:

jerry west also loves the logo so if he's such a genius the logo is perfect

It's alright I guess. I'm not a Grizz fan so it doesn't really matter I suppose. I didn't really care for the Rockets' current logo when it was first unveiled, but I've grown used to it.
